A fib

After three years of having A fibrillation it has finally been recorded after i ended up in hospital during an episode that lasted four hours with my heart beating at 230.
i had been back to the doctors two days before this happened to tell them i have recorded a fib on my Kardia that i had just purchased but the doctor says she has never heard of a Kardia so she won’t be taking notes from that and she will do an ecg.
i told her there is no point in doing a 30 second ecg when I’m not in a fib.
This all happened 7 weeks ago the hospital referred me to a cardiologist but I haven’t heard anything from them.
im worried that it’s damaged my heart I go into a fib every few weeks, when it started years ago it was lasting a few minutes now it last between 40 mins to a few hours at a time.
My mum had a heart attack at 46 and I’m that age so I wondered if I have an underlying problem.
i was pleased it had been caught on the ecg at hospital and it validates what I was feeling for yrs and not peri menopause that the doctors kept saying it was.
Has anyone had any experience with this please x

230bpm is unusually fast for uncontrolled AF…was it really definitely AF? Did the cardiologists not see you after you were cardioverted and organise and echo? Something doesn’t sound quite right. Best advice is probably just to keep going back to ED when you get symptoms.

Yes it definitely says I was in fast a fib and they recorded atrial flutter as well. The doctor at the accident and emergency says he is going to refer me back to my doctors and tell them that they need to then refer me to a cardiologist. They have done that but I haven’t heard anything since then. I can see all the hospitals notes that they sent to the doctors on my nhs app
