I miss my mum

She died a year ago.
Our relationship was difficult. She was by many metrics a terrible person. She was not a perfect mother by many miles
But she was my mum. And my only mum. And tonight I wish I could speak to her.

I miss you mum.

What would you say to her?

Couldn’t scroll by without saying I’m sorry x

I'd say that she treated me sometimes terribly. Her lack of support during my sexual abuse scarred me. Her hatred of me growing up stunted my sense of independence. That I'm terrified of becoming her.
But she was so proud of me. She was so proud of my children.

Have you thought about bereavement counselling?

It’s been 4 years for me. I miss my mum so much. Life will never be the same. But I do think it’s true that you learn to sit with your grief and you do grow around it. Sending you strength.

Oh love 💞.. nearly a year since my own Mum died... I say this very sensitively but I absolutely feel for you..the relationship with my Mum was simple and loving and I can't imagine how you feel..
But I can understand the wanting to speak to her... it's like a gut punch sometimes when I remember she's gone..
Sending hugs and love.
