There are countless threads on here with MNetters claiming they ‘always felt something was off’ about a celebrity who was later convicted of sexual misconduct. LL is similar. Hindsight gives the most innocuous actions sinister overtures.

Well they were right if the celeb was later convicted of sexual misconduct then weren't they?!

Firefly1987 · 01/09/2025 20:32

I don't understand what you can have again CS2C when the majority of his vids are court transcripts-like how can you argue with anything that was said in court?!

@Firefly1987- you certainly did wuestion how anyone could argue with what was said in court.

Anx you’ve previously implied that what is said must be true.

You clearly don’t understand, at all.

No - that’s the opposite of what I mean.

I don’t mean that posters state that they feel something is off about a celebrity who is later convicted. I mean once someone is convicted of a crime, whether that’s a celebrity or just ‘someone you know’ people start to put all sorts of interpretations and theories about past behaviour.

No one likes feeling that they’ve been fooled or misled, so people claim they ‘always knew’ or ‘there was always something odd.’ Often, there wasn’t. Huw Edwards for instance - probably one of the most respected people out there until his conviction, but threads on here insist and insist they ‘always knew.’

Honestly, I don’t think there anything awful in ‘you’ll never guess what’s happened.’ It entirely depends on the tone and it could be ‘said’ in a shocked, upset, stunned, distressed way. It doesn’t have to be ‘gossipy.’ But being a gossip isn’t the same as a murderer for one. a lot of people hanging on to the trial with baited breath and screaming in delight at the convictions are worse IMO than ‘you’ll never guess what’s happened’; much worse.

Really?

Where are all the formal complaints from colleagues / parents that would have been catnip to the prosecution had they existed?

Why did one parent consider asking her to be a godmother?

What's that noise I hear?

Could it be the bottom of a barrel being scraped i wonder?

I've already provided all this. There were at least two complaints against her from parents. You just dismiss it as people looking back in hindsight.

Why did one parent consider asking her to be a godmother?

People with personality disorders such as Lucy are very charming. Honestly some of you guys are ripe for being taken advantage of if you think everyone who presents themselves as a good person and gets close to their victim is innocent. Wasn't Beverly Allitt asked to be godmother by one of her victims parents also? 🤔so not sure you want to use that as proof!

No I saw it - except Lucy didn’t go around SAYINV ‘you’ll bever guess what?!’ did she? That’s YOUR interpretation

Er no, it's literally what Nicola Lightfoot said happened. Why are you denying this?

I know what you meant. There are red flags with people though so who knows if they saw them all along or just said that later when it all came out.

But being a gossip isn’t the same as a murderer for one. a lot of people hanging on to the trial with baited breath and screaming in delight at the convictions are worse IMO than ‘you’ll never guess what’s happened’; much worse.

We're talking about the deaths of babies here, how can you think it's ok to treat it as gossip?!

itstartedinthepeaks · 02/09/2025 21:15

You’re really selecting little bits of posts here @Firefly1987 and it is a bit frustrating.

Firstly, I don’t even think it’s gossip. It could be gossip; it depends on the tone and the context.

It isn’t OK if so but there’s an enormous grey space between ‘that was inappropriate’ and ‘that means you are the worse serial killer of children in recorded history.

I have seen many people follow the trial and the convictions and respond delightedly to the convictions when Letby was found guilty. Not really any better. They didn’t murder babies, though. (INO, neither did Letby.)

Yup. Forgot about that.

I don’t fibd it particularly compelling.

Sure and someone who shows a pattern of extreme misogyny might not go on to rape or murder a woman, but then again he also might.

Well they're happy she's facing justice for her crimes, pretty obvious I would've thought. After the absolute trauma of the trial it's about the best outcome you could hope for. How is that remotely similar?

itstartedinthepeaks · 02/09/2025 21:37

Trauma of the trial my arse. Enjoying the drama of it more like. Just as LL has been accused of.

What are you advocating for? We look at people for traits we think we see and then imprison them just in case they may go on to offend? And I thought Minority report was dystopian.

Also, when was Lucy diagnosed with a personality disorder @Firefly1987? By whom?

So basically you'll explain all Lucy's behaviour away but someone glad she was found guilty is a monster? OK then. BTW I'd have to see video evidence of this "delight" or else it's just your interpretation. Works both ways.

Also, when was Lucy diagnosed with a personality disorder @Firefly1987? By whom?

I can't remember the last time I heard of a murderer being diagnosed with a personality disorder (not that I've been keeping track) yet most of them probably do. You'd certainly have to have one to attack and kill vulnerable babies. Perhaps she has privately been diagnosed but it hasn't been made public because she's still 100% culpable so it wouldn't make a difference. It's just incredibly obvious she has one, even aside from her convictions.

Tell me you don't know anyone with personality disorder without ..... you know the rest 🙄

Oh I know - sorry if that came across as a correction. I didn't mean that at all! Just meant people might like to see the report that was discussed at this meeting, and that you can find accounts of the two children in it.

Alison Kelly has that sort of handwriting that is lovely to look at but still hard to read!

No I didn’t think you were! Just clarifying.

Edited

Doesn't diminish my point that those that have personality disorders (ASPD or NPD) are charming and capable of putting on an act. Beverley Allitt did the same thing. So it proves nothing saying oh they wanted to make her godmother. That's why you have to be aware of people like that and not fall for the poor victim routine they want you to believe.
