Present ideas for 6yo boy

What toys or games have your 6 years olds really loved getting for their birthdays recently? I’m totally out of ideas.
DS loves gadgets, animals and superheroes. Is very energetic and active but not into any one particular sport. Is an only child so ideally something he could play with alone as much as with friends.
Budget around £50 and if it’s not too big, noisy or annoying that’s a bonus!

If he might like Lego, look out for 3 in 1 sets. You build 3 different models with 1 set, taking it to bits and rebuilding in between. My kids think they're hours of fun. Tricky to get one suitable for age 6 though.

My boy is 5 and loves

Magnet cubes
Rocket launcher (just an air pump you stand on that launches foam rockets)
Lego

Thanks for the ideas. Should have said he’s not really a fan of Lego. Finds it a bit fiddly and wants to play with the things he builds so gets frustrated when they break apart. So ideally something a bit sturdier

I don't know if its too young for him but there are build a bot pets which are robots in the shape of dogs etc that you build and then interact with you - looked at them for a five year old relative and thought he probably wouldn't cope with it but I think the age was 4 up

My son really enjoyed his marble run at that age. He’s now 9 and he still gets it out from time to time. He had his friend over the other day for a play date and his friend asked if we would set it up. They played together for at least an hour on it. It’s a really sturdy wooden one and was a gift, so I’m not sure about the cost.

My boys have really been into the toys from Refresh Sports. We're huge on developmental and interactive toys. We've seen so many hours of play for them and their friends with the sticky paddle toss and the mini glider. The boomerang has also been a huge hit. My younger son always wanted to learn how to throw a boomerang and this made it easy for him.

Perplexus maze ball fits all your criteria!
