I feel fortunate to get to half a century. Some people don’t.
However, I feel overwhelmed by it and wonder if this is normal. I am not vain but am conscious of ageing too and well, just feel a bit meh about it all. Not even any excitement.
Have enormous family pressures at the moment and am carrying a heavy load of emotional worry.
Not sure if this is anything as to why I feel quite down about it.

Can someone give my head a wobble please..

Congratulations! Happy Birthday! Don’t obsess over aging… you can’t do much about it so worrying is a waste of energy and time. Do whatever it takes to stay fit and healthy, though. Physically and mentally.

Happy birthday @IstillloveKingThistle.
Another one here who had a minimal lockdown 50th.

I am so sorry about your big, beautiful sister.

Haopy bday!
Have you done any solo travel? If not and finances permit, please do so.

I’m so sorry about your sister & I hope you had a lovely birthday.

I’m 52 on Friday & looking back, the single best thing I did for myself (mainly on the advice of MN) after turning 50 was to join the local gym, get advice from a PT & take up weightlifting.

If you can, I’d really recommend it. It’s great for strength, confidence & especially for bone density as menopause hits.

Oh very sorry about your sister. Midlife is hard, no doubt about it.

Happy birthday op!

My 50th was nothing special, I was grieving and it just rumbled past. 60 will be strange as that feels ‘old’.

Can you mark it with a mini break, something nice but low key enough while you’re supporting your sister?

I don’t have much advice, like you I focus on the fact that a lot of people don’t have the luxury of ageing. I also took myself in hand and have lost 24kg which has put me in normal BMI for the first time in 2 decades and got which I feel much better. I’m also trying to live in the moment more, like animals do. Humans ponder and worry too much.
