For those of you who have tried sleeping tablets, which ones have you found the best for falling to sleep and staying asleep without making you feel like death/unable to get up in the morning? I need some for short term use (about a week) but I will need to be able to get up and feel refreshed. Prescription or OTC, will take all suggestions!

Phenargen

Nytol (the blue packet) or Boots Sleepeaze which is exactly the same but cheaper

Piriton works for me but Phenergan doesn't. Phenergan works for DH but Piriton doesn't.

I get good sleep with magnesium compounds but I have ADHD and it works on that.

otherwise…night nurse

I found zopiclone the best for me.

Devilsmommy · 27/08/2025 21:49

Zopiclone but you need a prescription for it

FrillySocksAndDocs · 27/08/2025 21:50

Zopiclone or quetiapine.

Anti histamine and magnesium for me. If I forget I’m awake at 4am, if I remember I have crazy dreams.

Sandrine1982 · 27/08/2025 21:52

Another vote for Zopiclone.

3luckystars · 27/08/2025 21:53

Dormadina is over the counter in Spain, antihistamines. Absolutely brilliant but it is in your system for 12 hours so factor that in.

CagneyNYPD1 · 27/08/2025 21:55

Piriton in the orange packet (sold behind the counter at Boots). Not prescription.
