Air China flight from Heathrow to Beijing had to make an emergency landing in Russia. A place definitely not on the current safe places to go list for British people.

I know that they are probably going to be absolutely fine - but would you want to end up in Russia if your flight had to make an emergency landing?

I’d take my chances in Russia over the more certain ending of a crash landing.

It’s a risk you take when you choose Air China! A European carrier (or American, or Australian) wouldn’t go through Russian airspace.

Honestly- I wouldn’t give it a strong thought. I fly with the cheapest airline almost exclusively!

So how many British citizens were actually on the plane?

Surely they will be almost all Chinese people? China get on with Russia don’t they?

Sure some Brits would want to fly to Beijing on a cheap flight
