Luxury family hotels in Europe near a beach under £10k for a week - any recommendations?

I’ve got a big birthday next year, in August. To celebrate I’m looking for a luxury hotel in Europe that my two kids (5 and 7) would also love (so slides and kids disco etc.).

I sadly don’t have an Ikos budget so wondered whether anyone had any recommendations for an Ikos style hotel but for less than £10k a week for four of us. We aren’t big drinkers/eaters so no all inclusive needed within that budget.

Any recommendations hugely appreciated!

I am always recommending the Jiva Beach Resort in Calis, Turkey. I’m not sure of the prices in August tbh but it costs just over 3k for 3 of us in April, so I’m guessing it might be within your budget? A 5 star resort, all inclusive with lovely food and great drinks, kids club, evening entertainment, water slides and private beach 😊

Here you are- it is just over 5k for two adults and two kids in August https://www.jet2holidays.com/beach/turkey/dalaman-area/calis/jiva-beach-resort?duration=7&airport=99&date=20-08-2026&occupancy=r2c5_7&gtmsearchtype=Hotel+Search

Apparently Nelson holidays are really good!

I recommend that you take me!

As a practical consideration, southern Europe seems to be getter hotter every summer - do you have any regional preferences?

Happy big birthday in advance, OP! August + slides + kids disco = my two’s dream too. If you don’t need AI, look at Pine Cliffs (Algarve), Zafiro Palace Alcudia (Mallorca), and Martinhal Sagres. All very kid-centric but not quite Ikos money.

@PivotFan I’m at one of those that you mentioned right now! Great minds! Thank you.

Which one if you don't mind ? thanks !

We loved grecotel costa botanica in corfu but there are a range of them all over Greece. We went in June (family of 3 less than 3k). Or Sani beach?

NancyJoan · 26/08/2025 21:45

The Martinhal hotels are lovely. I would think about costs while you are there, and also the likely temperature. Portugal is more reasonably priced than Mallorca, for example, and also a bit cooler.

DrRichardWebber · 26/08/2025 21:55

@PivotFan Zafiro Alcudia. Love it!

@PivotFan Zafiro Alcudia. Love it!

Am I correct in saying that the outdoor pools are not heated? Looking at this one for late May/early June and any reviews I’ve read seem to indicate cold pools at that time of year anyway.
Cheers for any info

TommyKnocker · 29/08/2025 22:17

Lytoss Beach or Stella Palace, although both are in Crete so will be hot!

DrRichardWebber · 30/08/2025 08:25

@Brycare not sure for that time of year. They don’t feel cold now. And I’m an absolute baby about going into a cold swimming pool! They feel warmer than our local swimming pool in the UK.

If you budget really is £10k why not to book Ikos?
Which airport is the nearest to you?

TUI Holidays | Live Happy | tui.co.uk

Ikos Oceania for 7 nights (24/08/26-31/08/26) two adults and two kids from Gatwick AI is £9600. There are also some discount codes and possibly cashback.

ETA: or you're looking for something substantially less than 10k? my apology if I misunderstood your post.

DrRichardWebber · 30/08/2025 18:21

@nearlylovemyusername thanks for sharing. Ikos was looking at closer to £15k when I looked so that’s a massive improvement!

Gardaland in Lake Garda?

WhiteNoiseBlur · 30/08/2025 18:38

Sheraton Fuertaventura in Caleta de Fuste - get one of the big suites (executive/duplex/presidential). So lovely

JW13 · 30/08/2025 18:47

@DrRichardWebbernot sure if you’re familiar with Ikos properties - Oceania is one of the older ones and hasn’t been refurbed yet so it is usually more reasonable than some of the others. Don’t let that put you off though as the service is really outstanding and the resort isn’t tired - we’ve been 3 times - it’s just not as insta friendly as the others!

… but it doesn’t have slides! Our son loves it there but I think he’ll want a resort with slides soon. The entertainment is fine but it’s not that full on so depends if that’s important for you.

food, wine service etc are outstanding. We’ll go back next year.

Came across Nana Golden Beach in Crete – looks great value for families!

I do a lot of browsing for family-friendly luxury spots, and one that recently caught my eye was Nana Golden Beach Hotel in Crete. For a family of four, the comfort family room was around £6,799 for a week, and there’s an option to upgrade to sea view for a bit extra. It seems to tick most of the boxes – pools, kids’ slides, mini disco – without straying into Ikos price territory.

here’s the TUI link I saw it on:

Nana Golden Beach - Crete

Also, while you’re in the research stage, don’t overlook the Indian Ocean – places like Mauritius and nearby islands can sometimes fall surprisingly close to that price range (with a bit of clever timing). Quite a few families I know have managed to do it within a £10k budget for four.

Best trick I’ve found? Google ‘luxury beach holidays companies UK’ – a couple of specialists come up that really help you find the hidden gems without the eye-watering prices.

Any of the Barut hotels in and around Antalya, Turkey.

Whatwoulddumbledoredo · 01/09/2025 13:07

Try Oku hotel Andalusia (the others are adult only). A new hotel this year. I know some families who went and had a great time...
