I have a lovely mid thigh Berhaus- It is waterproof but the hood it a bit meh when it is properly raining- I still need an umbrella.
In proper cold weather I have a red robe dry robe- it is very warm and waterproof and I don't care what I look like.
I am on the look out for something lighter than my red robe which is proper fuck off waterproof and has a bloody decent hood that keeps me dry and stays in place.
On the reincoat website they have something called a reincoat pro- it looks just the ticket- but it does have fleece lining so might not be much different to my redrobe. I also do not care that it is an equestrian coat- I just want to stay dry as I mostly walk everywhere.
Any thoughts on this? Any other brands that are proper waterproof with a proper hood- not a pretend fashion hood?

Ridgeline.
The best coat I've ever had. Use it for dog walking, doing horses and full days of beating/picking up in Autumn and winter

I only have two coats which are completely waterproof with nice big hoods. Both of which are equestrian.

I’ve just bought the new Reincoat Air (I think it is), so far it’s brilliant. Lovely big hoods and I was caught in a really heavy downpour and stayed dry. I’ve also got a large Equidry which saw me through last winter with no leaks. Even in -10 temperatures.

I don’t ride, but my dd does. Tbh I’d still buy again even if I didn’t have anything to do with horses

I have a reincoat and it’s wonderful and warm and very waterproof ( I wear it to the yard though!)

Thanks so much
as I said I do have a red evo pro dry robe - which is very warm and waterproof. I really like the look of the reincoat pro and it is on sale- I wonder how hot it is with the fleece lining.
i don’t ride sadly but I completely agree that equestrian is the way to go. It’s the useless hoods on most raincoats- I don’t have a big head at all but they barely reach my forehead so are completely useless at keep your head and face dry .

I have a reincoat lite which is fantastic, however the only thing I would say against them is the hoods are MASSIVE - I guess because they are supposed to go over our helmets, however I tend to wear mine more for bring in/turnout and dog walking so am constantly pushing the hood up!

Can you not adjust them so they stay in position?

Like you @BigButtons I'd like a decent spring / autumn coat .

I don't think I have ever had a decent hood on a coat so I tend to go with hats , up until last year ( left it on a bus 😡 ) I had a wax wide brim hat . 100 % rain proof, with the advantage that you can pick a size that fits you rather than what is attached to your coat .

Mine was like this Heritage hat it was a driza bone but I didn't pay anything like that much for it.
I think it was about £50 ( still a heck of a lot for a hat ) about 7 years ago.

I wish hoods on coats had peaks like baseball caps it would keep our faces much dryer. I guess I could wear one under my hood , but why haven't coat manufacturers made them.
