Tax refund anybody?

I received my tax calculation from HMRC and they owe me some overpaid PAYE tax. I have claimed this online today and asked for it to be paid directly in to my bank account. It says processing. Has anybody claimed recently and know when it will go in to my bank account?

I realise today is a Bank Holiday so probably won’t be processed today but would be good to know when it will be paid in my account. (I did get my tax calculation letter online yesterday which was Sunday, and wasn't expecting that on a weekend).

I requested a repayment online, and it took exactly 14 days.

Google says 5 working days, if it's straightforward.

I always owe them money! So no experience of refunds.

I got £2000 quickly

I had a refund of £3k last year and it was paid into my account less than 5-days from my submitting the information.

I have been waiting since January. Not PAYE though, self assessment. I complained in early July. Still awaiting a response more than a month later 😡

Mine is straightforward, they have told me that its owed to me, so no further checks for them to do. Hopefully it’s within 5 days.

I usually owe them so this is a nice little surprise!

Recently? Was that paye and after they sent you a tax calculation? Thats longer than they estimate. Maybe there is a backlog.

That’s not good. They’d be chasing if you owed them.

I am also waiting for them to pay (self assessment), I have requested it twice since June and nada.

Ah ok, I have heard there are delays for self assessment too due to backlog.
Mine was a simple paye over payment that they have told me about and told me they will refund it.
I claimed it online yesterday and so far it just says they are processing it.

Paye about 5 to 8 days , working days hmrc , one day lost this week so in bank say Friday or Monday next , that's only paye

Great, hopefully it will be. I’m sat on my hands to stop keep refreshing my bank waiting for it 😂😂

Just in case anyone else is waiting on a refund, rare I know! I just had a notification on my app and the status has changed from ‘processing’ to hmrc issued a payment on 27th’ which is tomorrow strangely! So it may be paid tomorrow.
