What's for breakfast on this sunny Bank Holiday Monday?

I've had yoghurt, blueberries and chopped nuts - about to have a large strong coffee.

Second breakfast late morning will involve eggs 🍳 and not much else as supplies are low!

Lentil and tomato soup! Made a huge pot the other day and it's actually very good for breakfast.

MYOB12 · 25/08/2025 09:46

A huge helping of an apple and blackberry crumble my DP made last night. Not my usual breakfast but it was very nice! 👌 😁

A Bahlsen chocolate biscuit. Very pleasant.

I had yohgurt and blueberries too, with mixed seeds. It was lovely.
I was up before everyone else and ate it in the garden listening to the birds singing.

StMarie4me · 25/08/2025 10:11

Ham and Porridge. 😊

PInkyStarfish · 25/08/2025 10:16

Green Shakshuka. Basically spinach, onion, garlic, olives, peppers, feta cheese, eggs and vegetables broth.

Imperfectpolly · 25/08/2025 10:17

I had plain porridge. I'm in hospital with a bad dose of tonsillitis so even being able to eat plain porridge was amazing.

Hope everyone enjoys the bank holiday.

An almond croissant and a massive mug of tea, sat outside in the garden. Bliss

thejadefish · 25/08/2025 10:25

Pom bears, but I'm on the ferry and I'm too cheap to buy breakfast on board, so I'll get something more substantial when we dock 😂

hattie43 · 25/08/2025 10:39

Cereal and blueberries.

YourFavouriteFalafel · 25/08/2025 11:24

Greek yogurt with strawberries and banana in the garden as I'm trying to have a low carb day. DH is having an amazing looking avocado/feta/hummus ciabatta concoction that I declined when he offered, and now I'm regretting my choices.

dontforgetme · 25/08/2025 11:28

Jam on toast!

Planesmistakenforstars · 25/08/2025 11:31

A steak and kidney pie and a large coffee.

MysweetAudrina · 25/08/2025 11:59

I've just had the most delicious bowl of fig and nut granola, with mandarin segments, mint, cranberries and Greek yoghurt. Its my birthday today so I treated myself to it after my yoga class and before my Japanese head treatment which I'm also treating myself to. It's all about me today :)

DeirdreChambersWhatACoincidence · 25/08/2025 12:48

@MysweetAudrina happy birthday!

A bike ride already this morning and house to myself as eldest DC has his first day at college, DH at work and all the other DC are at school.

user1476613140 · 25/08/2025 12:51

Usual breakfast. I should put glasses on next time 🤣

MargaretThursday · 25/08/2025 13:26

I've just had a can of coke zero and a bag of crisps.
My excuse is I have covid and feel sick if eating much.

I don't normally have breakfast though.

Do you follow a recipe? I'd love that.

We had poached eggs, spinach and avocado on sourdough with orange juice and coffee.
It feels like a real last hurrah of summer today

PestoHoliday · 25/08/2025 13:39

I had some odds and ends that needed eating up - last 3 fish fingers in the packet, 4 slices of dill pickle left in the jar, a single bread roll, so I made a fish finger sandwich around half eleven.

@YumYa https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1027173-slow-cooker-creamy-tomato-lentil-soup?smid=share-url

It's this one, I used 50g coconut cream instead of actual cream because that's what I had, and didn't use a slow cooker. It's the nicest soup I've ever had I think!

Oh, I like the look of that! 🌞
