Was thinking this earlier.

Sitting outside watching the bats start to flit about - i'm aware that there won't be many warm evenings now 😕

Bit maudlin that DD is starting secondary next week too 😫

I feel like that every year.

I’m trying to keep summer going until 21st Sept (autumn equinox) but it’s coming towards the end of the school holidays, tomorrow is meant to be our last day of hot weather before it turns very mixed and it’s September next week so I can feel it slipping away. In some ways I find this bit trickier than autumn proper as we’re desperately clinging to the last of the summer and it’s the hope that kills you - we all want a nice balmy start to Sept but I fear we may be out of luck as we’ve already had so much hot weather this year. In fairness by garden could really benefit from some proper rain so I’m trying to look on the bright side.
