How do you end a text?

x, xx, xxx or . depending who it is!

If they're an acquaintance they get nothing

If they're a friend they get a kiss

If I'm drunk they get a ❤️

If I'm pissed off they get a full stop or even worse... a 👍

I'm petty and I like it!

With a full stop, or a question mark or exclamation mark if that’s appropriate. Just normal punctuation.

I have this problem where I feel like my texts seem rude if I dont put an 'x' or an emoji 🙈🙈

I’d never dream of ending a text with x. What’s that all about? Like a kiss? Not even to my DC or DH would I do that, never mind anyone else.

What’s really weird is when people end MN posts with an x.

I only end texts with an x if I really mean it.

If I end the text to my husband or kids and I’m rushing and don’t put a Xx at the end of a text I send a separate text with just Xx 🤣

Usually a couple of kisses for friends or family. If people use loads of emojis in the end of theirs then I might use one or two, the same ones they used. Tradespeople etc I probably just say thanks or cheers or nothing.

Yeah, on MN it is particularly weird.

I think those who do it on Mumsnet do it cos they are used to adding x at the end of texts, I used to end every text to friends and family like that and caught myself a few times adding x on here from habit
i just stopped doing the x thing in real life so much

I often do what the other person does. If they put x then I feel obligated to do the same
