Ring doorbell or better option

Hi I have kids late primary and so no longer need childcare. But home 30 or so mins before me. They don't own a mobile (getting one maybe for christmas). I am also teaching so I can't call them to check are they home OK (safe area 7 min walk but still..)

I don't want something with a subscription.. I do own an Alexa but no clue could I use that to even see them from the hall on my phone 🙃

Any simple device would do the trick but would like to get something sorted ,??

What about a Eufy doorbell? Wireless and no subscription needed. We’ve had ours for at least a year now after two ring doorbells kept failing to work. You can talk through the doorbell to your phone and it connects to Alexa. Think ours was about £89.

We’ve got Eufy, very happy with it. No fees, easy to download when needed and to speak with callers. We’ve got a cctv camera at the side of the house so when the doorbell is ringing it records the side entrance too so if the caller was looking to distract so someone could get in via the side door they’d be captured by the camera.

We have tapo. No subscription and it looks to our alexa. It's really good

For you to be able to look back on ring you would need a subscription. So unless you were watching at the exact moment they got back it would be pointless in that sense.

Aopreciate that sirzy. I see what you mean & it wouldn't suit because I cannot be on my phone (but I have a moment between classes)

Does the eufy only work if you see the exact moment the kids open the door ,? 89 quid is perfect

So it's the Tapo or Eufy. But i would have to be on my phone at that exact time?

What about air tags ?

Air tags only work near an Apple device, they sort of bounce the signal off the device.

What about the good old ‘give me two rings when you get there’ method? You would be able to see in your call log that someone had rung when you can get to your phone.

Eufy you can look back, we have the doorbell and two cameras, motion activated, no subscription

The two rings perfect. Then we might still get the eufy . Handy for delivery drivers etc
