Anyone ever painted a piano?

If so, any tips? Painting mine from brown to black. Very scared that I'll wreck it.

I painted a piano white once. Made a bloody hash of it tbh. I know a piano dealer who paints ugly pianos, swears by using farrow and ball paint and sanding VERY well. He usually paints them light shades though , not seen a black one. Good luck!

I’ve done two pianos - one I stained rather than painted using dark brown wax. It looked amazing. The second one I spray painted because it’s really difficult to get a good finish with a brush. The prep is key to a successful result.
