PMS vs PMDD

I have PCOS but recently have been getting my periods back (After having no more than 3 a year!) I was happy to get my periods back at first as I felt like it would be a good / healthy thing.
I’ve been tracking my periods on the Flo app but also tracking my moods, without fail 2-3 days before I feel really low, no energy, tearful and just really out of sorts. I googled it and people mention PMDD but I have heard of PMDD before and my understanding of it was that it can be for 2 weeks before and severe depression. I don’t know much about PMS or PMDD and wondered if anyone could share their symptoms? I just felt like everything feels too much, unmanageable, run down like I’m ill, I don’t want to talk to anyone and just want to go back to bed. Is this just ‘normal’ part of having periods? I was on the contraception at 13 (For my skin) until 30, I’m now 38 and my body is now only just starting to have proper periods and more regular so I do in a strange way feel very new to it…!

Sounds like PMS to me. I have PMDD (managed with anti depressants), and those symptoms you describe last 2-3 weeks rather than 2-3 days.
