As the title says really, what do you listen to in your car when you’re out with your older teens (16+)?

Radio? If so which station?
Podcasts - any suggestions?

Im going to be spending quite a lot of time with DS in the car driving him to/from college. I hope it’s relaxed fun time for us together, and I’m hoping we can find things we both enjoy rather than him plugging himself into his earphones and not communicating with me at all!

So, have you had any successes?

The limelight cia story on bbc sounds. It's fascinating and kept my 17yr old enthralled

Usually mine Bluetooth their playlists from their phone to the car radio. They both have fairly eclectic musical tastes and I've discovered quite a few artists that I like.

Radio 6 Music usually has a good variety to float both our boats. DS is 12.

This. They set up their playlists. Total mix of stuff they've come across over the years. I enjoy it.

Funniest one is 'divorced dad music' which is lots of soft rock from the 80s/90s

My DS is fab for car journeys as he DJs whilst I drive and we alternate songs - I get to choose one, then he does. He has also found some fascinating podcasts. So in short, I would put the incar entertainment firmly in your teen’s camp.

Whatever I want when I’m driving.

My dd sets up a Spotify playlist for each journey. A mixture of Taylor swift or fleetwood mac usually.
