Haven holiday help

We've just booked a stay at a Haven park, arriving on Monday. One of the big perks to book was the swimming pool. In our confirmation, it says you have to pre book the swimming (have a set number of slots allocated to you to book in advance) and then you might be able to book more once on site. We've gone to prebook, and there are no slots available. I've messaged Haven, but wondered on the mean time if anyone else has had this happen? Thanks!

Yes you have to book your slots as soon as they open weeks before. I’ve never waited until we arrive as they’re gone by then.

@YetanotherNC25 we've gone straight on after booking, and nothing, which is frustrating! If we can't go swimming, we probably will cancel, as it's such a big part of our plans.

Keep trying. I’ve known them to show as fully booked but then release more slots later.

Unfortunately if you’ve only just booked now to arrive on Monday the swimming slots may well be fully booked- there will be people who have booked their holidays months in advance and the swimming slots are released around a month prior to your stay. As PP said, do keep checking as people do cancel them if their plans change etc (however as the slots are free there isn’t really anything in it for people to cancel).

I’ve heard this but I’ve never had a problem with booking swimming, cancellations usually come up fairly often especially if the weather is decent.

I've gone to the desk to ask for cancellations in person when I am there and often get in. There are usually a few no shows and then they let waiting people in.

I'll keep checking, at least if we do get booked in we know it won't be overcrowded! 🤣

Spoke to someone this morning who said we should be able to book in on site, but that the outside pool is free to use without booking, so looks like we're all good! Thanks for all the advice.
