During a visit to a small town, an elephant went missing from a travelling circus.
All hands went in search of it covering as far and wide an area as they could but after two days they still hadn't found it.
Knowing there was no way such a huge animal could have evaded them in the town and surrounding area they decided to widen the search. Thinking it must have travelled deeper into the countryside and may no longer be visible from the main roads they had driven, they decided to carry on the search by foot, covering little known walkways and miles of open farm.
After hours of walking one of the workers saw a very cross looking farmer, shaking his head, walking towards him. When he got closer he said to the farmer "hello there, I'm with the travelling circus, I don't suppose you've seen an elephant round these parts?"
"A what?, no I havn't but if you're looking for a beast that belongs in a circus you can take that odious big lump of a thing thats in my field picking all me cabbages with it's tail and shoving them up his arse!"
