Galaxy Watch 8?

Anyone bought the new Galaxy watch yet? My birthday is coming up and I have been thinking of upgrading my one Galaxy 4 watch but not seen too much about it yet. If you have it what do you think? Worth it?

I’ve upgraded from the Galaxy watch 4 to the watch 7, it’s much snappier responding, but otherwise it doesn’t feel like a huge difference. The 8 looks different to the 7 and has a couple of extra metrics that can be measured. There were quite a few deals on the 8 - definitely keep a look out if you want to upgrade, Samsung often do trade-ins etc. If not too fussed about whatever the new metrics are you could also go for the 7, personally I don’t like the look of the 8.

@Silverblue1985 Thanks! I'm not sure about the look of it either (what where they thinking) but I've heard people say it looks better in person. I'll have a look at it in store if possible before I decide. I suspect you are correct that their isn't a huge difference just yet. I'll also consider the 7.

I'm also thinking of the 8. Here's a review comparing it with the 7.

In general, I tend to get the latest model of devices - the software is just going to interface better going forward.
It's not stunning, but it's a sport watch, not a Cartier! 😅And you can probably select a different face.

@Citygirl17 Its the "squircle" I'm not keen on but I might feel differently when I see it in person. Thanks for the link!

Have you made a decision about the watch, OP?
I got the Galaxy 8 a few days ago.
Massive learning curve, but I think it's going to be ok.

@Citygirl17 Not yet, but I am still thinking of it, how is it looking in the flesh, better than in photos?

It's big. This was one of the better faces, imo. But the functionality is very good.

This just in - functionality was good, but charging was terrible. Tried to get Tech Support - hopeless. Sending back. Caveat emptor! 😂
