Prescription sleeping meds in children's gummies

I'd heard about these gummies working like magic - wish I'd stocked up now to take myself! So fed up of not sleeping. (light-hearted, obviously). On a serious note, why is it so hard to get here but sold OTC in other countries?

I think I’d heard this somewhere, that they were a natural melonin source - is that right?

caffelattetogo · 18/08/2025 16:11

And yes, I bet there’ll be a rush on any remaining packets now!

winterwonder1 · 19/08/2025 15:42

Yes, it seems to be sold quite freely in other countries.

It’s easy to order melatonin gummies.

They auto hide the gümie word

but yes, they are easy to find online. I buy them from piping rock

I think I'm a bit naïve - I had no idea

Melatonin is a hormone that affects your brain not a vitamin, and taking unregulated products you have no idea what amount you are taking. Especially if you are taking products that don't even list it, never mind not knowing how much is in them.

I am following this I realised it is an old post. I have just ordered online for my DC for the first time as sick to death of the NHS waiting times for referrals. Going around in loops and circles of never ending referral times and no one can actually help poor DC. GP says won't prescribe as needs to be a specialist. May as well have told me to go to search for it end of a rainbow. Parents are going to be looking elsewhere, it's just ridiculous. Sorry for the rant.
