2 Centre Holiday Advice

Just an idea at the mo as part of my 60th celebrations. Wondering about a week in Skiathos then a week on Skopelos which apparently is much quieter & doesn’t have as much to do. Which way round would be best? Also, has anyone stayed at La Piscine Art Hotel in Skiathos Town and/or The Panormos Beach Hotel on Skopelos? Like the idea of the Mamma Mia tours etc.

Also any recommendations for tour operators? Jet2 sound good. How about ice lolly.com?

I have been to Skiathos a couple of times. Skiathos has a good number of restaurants and bars, in the town and dotted around the island, but there's not much sight seeing to do. It is not that busy, the main town is nice. Skopelos is very quiet and small. I haven't been but it does look lovely.

What sort of holiday are you looking for?

Also you could probably do a Mama Mia day tour from Skiathos

I would head for Skopelos first, so you are near the airport for the return. Bad weather, although rare can disrupt ferries. I’d also suggest a day trip from there to Allonissos. Avoid the tour boats and book via regular ferries.

I would not book through a tour operator but look at the likes of Expedia, Booking.com etc, to sort the holiday that you really want.

Probably just me & DH as DD16 wouldn’t want to be away with us without a friend & I think they’d get a bit fed up. I believe La Piscine is adults only.
Sightseeing wise, are there any other islands within easy reach of Skiathos?

Skopelos was absolutely beautiful. I went when I was 35 with DH. We had a villa and a hire car. Stunning vista. Visited the mamma Mia chapel and the beach when they filmed “does your mother know” plus many other places. Loved it so much and would definitely go back. Skiathos was much busier but also beautiful.
