Assume the person you are speaking to is in a public space and has the call on speaker. Assume your personal information is shared far and wide and it doesn’t occur to the person you’re speaking to prevent this by at least warning you ‘you’re on speaker.’

The new normal.

Assume in the first instance they are a scam.

Assume that you are being recorded at every possible moment, and that some teenager will try to make you go viral if you - as a woman - step out of line

Parenting with anxiety
assume the worse, prepare in your head for the worse, broken sleep for years. They get married and you finally can sleep and not worry but have your phone on loud 24/7 just in case.

Assume that sitting on transport is an appropriate time to whip your credit card out and buy tickets, pay bills (or anything) over the phone, reading your cc numbers out for all and sundry to collect.
