I’ve redecorated my sitting room and I’m really happy 😊

Moved into the house after my divorce 3 years ago, and it’s taking me forever to redo it and generally make it feel like home. Combo of lack of time/money/being arsed 😁. But I’ve had a week off work while the DCs are at their dad’s house and I’ve repainted the sitting room at last! It was very drab before, and I feel like I’ve added some personality. Maybe not to everyone’s taste but I’m happy and just wanted to share!

Aw shucks vipers 😁. I know the fireplace is fabulous, there is another one in my bedroom but the previous owner has not only stuck crap mdf shelves onto it, but put up crappy louvre door built ins in as well. That room should be my next project but it’s a massive job, I need to take off textured wallpaper as well as remove the dreadful wardrobes. So it will probably need to be re-skimmed which is way beyond my ability!

If you were local I'd swap stripping your wallpaper for you painting my walls!!

just pay someone to skim if it needs it, worth every penny. It's not easy to do well!!

what colours are you contemplating for that room?

I'm doing up mine, room by room. I managed to get the lounge done just before Christmas and I could have cried.

While I’m waiting for the photos to be approved, thought I’d share the paint colours. I used Little Greene Loft White, and Farrow and Ball Green Smoke. As I was painting over a white wall I needed 3 coats of the F&B, used a full 2.5 litre tin and half of another one. I had to do quite a bit of filling and sanding but not too much stripping thank goodness

I LOVE Green Smoke. My dining room is painted with it. Great choice @WingSlutz
