When did white Nike sports socks become so fashionable?

It seems like every other 20/30 something male is wearing them this summer. And they're always pulled up as far as they go so as to display the 'swoosh'!

Probably at least 5 years ago now!

A few years. I think they look ridiculous on men or women personally. However, I grew up when women and girls wouldn't be seen dead in pulled up socks of any kind and if you saw a hint of trainer sock that was too much, so what do I know.

I would say about 4 years ago. For girls/women, black leggings with the white Nike socks pulled over them! Not so popular now though

The trend to pulling socks right up is a few years old now but I certainly remember when it just wasn't the done thing. I'd say the Nike angle is more recent. Heaven forbid they should be Slazenger or Donnay!

Nike socks pulled up high became a thing among teenage boys about 10 years ago. Those teenage boys are now mid-20s blokes and still thinking it looks cool (they are all wrong, obvs).

Im mid 40s and it wasn't so long ago (or so it seems!) that people wouldn't be seen dead in white socks pulled up high, you would have got the piss absolutely ripped out you. Now they wear white socks, crocs and long brown suede skirts and barely anyone bats an eyelid. Fashion is a funny thing!

Jupiter. Nike hasn't caught on there yet.

It’s a bit cold on Jupiter for anyone to be showing their socks I suppose. You must be finding it rather warm here atm.

My 14 year old DD has been wearing that “look” since she started secondary school
