Heaton Park questions.

We are going to an event at Heaton Park in Manchester on Sunday the 31st August. Looking to stay nearby. Possibly Premier Inn but open to suggestions. We will be there on the Saturday and would like to go somewhere nice for lunch and maybe a little High Street that has small shops to look around. We will have the car. Can anyone advise if there's anything close by that fit that description?

I’m guessing you’re going to Festwich in Heaton Park? You could stay in Manchester City centre as it’s only a 10 minute tram ride directly to Heaton Park / Prestwich. The nearest Premier Inn is pretty grotty so I’d stay in Manchester.
‘Prestwich Village is very nice and has plenty of nice places to eat.

Bury isn't too far it's a couple of tram stations away and there is a premier inn there ,i agree with pp prestwich village is quite nice if your willing to travel a few miles Ramsbottom is a nice little town with places to eat and some small shops.

Prestwich is great and Ramsbottom is a lovely village
