Does anyone know anything about these biscuits?

I give my DH a Christmas stocking of little bits every year as well as his proper present. He has mentioned some biscuits he used to have in Cyprus (I think) and we found them once, years ago, in Aldi. He says they are carnation flavoured and that could be the case... they certainly weren't to my taste but he likes them. I would like to get him some for his stocking but, having done a search for carnation flavoured biscuits and every permutation of that I can think of, I can't find any.

Can anybody help? What should I be looking for?

Carnation as in carnation milk?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 16/08/2025 13:41

Carnations smell a bit like cloves - were they clove flavoured?

Cardamom or cinnamon or clove?

What do they look like - scrolls or flat with crimped edges?

Carnation are a big spice manufacturer - could they have been cardamon and he’s got confused ?

Thank you all for your responses.

@BitOutOfPractice no - not Carnation milk. Carnations as in the flower.

I don't think they were any of the suggestions - they did taste slightly of clove but I REALLY dislike clove and I don't think I they were flavoured with actual cloves. There were flowers on the packaging which makes me think they were actual carnations. I am aware that carnations can be used as a flavouring. I

I look forward to some more suggestions! Hopefully somebody who lives in Cyprus will know.

Carnations are the national flower of Cyprus, lots of companies use the carnation as part of their branding... as I say, what do they look like? Because taste can be subjective (I hate aniseed, I like cloves - sometimes they can taste similar) whereas shape less so.

Chat GPT tells me there are no actual biscuits flavoured with Carnations but that I’m probably talking about kourabiedes, flavoured with rose water and almonds.

There is a Greek/Turkish supermarket near me. I’ll have a look next time I’m in there.

OP, I might be able to help.

Can you describe them to me in a bit more detail?
