Help me out and give me your cringe stories that now we have gained some wisdom and life experience make you feel awful.

Mine I was just thinking about was early 20s, friend getting married but had just been away for the night starving and grabbed a McDonald’s. I actually took a McDonald’s chicken wrap into a bridal store, I stood my the entrance made sure I washed my hands and put the rubbish in the bin outside. But still I look back and think what a tw@t. The owner must have been fuming!

You “took it inside”
or ate it at the entrance and binned outside?

Nope I actually took it inside and ate it by the entrance 🤯😳

I didn’t go near any dresses or walk
around with it but looking back I’m still mortified.

You stood inside a bridal store, right by the entrance where people would be entering… and scoffed a take away?

bloody hell!

Well no as all bridal shops I’ve been too from and since are locked. It’s appiontment only so we were the only ones.

I borrowed an expensive camera without asking and took it to a leaving do to take photos - got blindingly drunk and left it on a train. Had to confess but couldn't bring myself to include the part about how drunk I was.

I do think now I wouldn't borrow something without asking - at the time it was more that I 'assumed that it would be fine and hadn't really factored in enough time to ask so I took it'. It's quite hard to defend a stupid decision so my only saving grace was that I didn't try to, I just stayed quiet while they got very cross, and felt awful for days. It was claimed on insurance in the end.

so you came in, she locked the door behind you, you proceeded to scoff your take away, then had to ask her to unlock the door so you could go to the bin outside the shop?

On what grounds was it claimed for on insurance?!

No she hadn’t locked the door so I could quickly run out, I had told her when I arrived. It was a breaded chicken wrap not a curry. I then locked it when I came back in.

@YellowZebraStripes I feel like everyone’s done that maybe not with something quite as expensive! Borrow and think it’s fine then its
not. A lesson most people have I think!

Thanks I don’t, I like to think others, like yourself, when they are trying to rile someone up that it says a lot more about you than me. Happy people aren’t mean to others so I always feel for you. I hope you heal from what ever causes you unhappiness in your life and have a lovely day.
