Anyone fancy sharing any?

How about book you loved, book you hated and book you’d always recommend.

For me I’d say

loved:
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings - Maya Angelou.
This is such an amazing and devastating book. More people should read it.

hated:
I started a Colleen Hoover. Just no.

recommend:
Asking For It - Louise O’Neill.
It’s a YA book about a girl who gets gang raped and I cried at the end. It’s so important because people miss the message - they go on about the protagonist being horrible so why should you care - that’s the point! Even if even if she was a bit arrogant and a flirt and took drugs, she still didn’t dear e to be gang raped. No one deserves to be raped and the protagonist being a bit of a nightmare was done to reinforce this. And people don’t like the ending but again, that’s how a lot of rape cases end. Emma’s behaviour is based on real life cases.I think it should be on the school syllabus but adults should read it too and discuss it to understand it,

I love other folk recommendations
reading currently - The Memory Police -Yōko Ogawa

Love and recommend- the secret history Donna Tartt. Epic book unusual dark and damaged characters and compelling read

Hate - schlocky crime procedural and frothy books like the flat share - formulaic and no depth

I still haven’t read any Donna Tartt, I really need to!

I listened to a serialised radio version of the Flat Share and it was just so stupid, it seemed like the sort of thing a teenager would make up. I blame the rise of Watt Pad.

I did t realise Bill Clinton had co-penned a book! Or is it a classic of “written” by Bill Clinton as there are now books “written” by Lorraine Kelly and Katie Price?
