Weekend Plans?

Anyone up to much? It’s very hot here in Cornwall - I haven’t felt very well with it this afternoon. Think a nice cuppa is in order. Two of the bunnies are in causing mischief. It’s like having toddlers sometimes! DH isn’t long home from work. He’s got the tail end of a nasty cold so hope I don’t get it. Nice easy tea of homemade chicken chow mein ( well apart from the sauce). Wish I’d got prawncrackers in. DD16 is lurking in her room. She actually sat in the garden earlier but only for about 5 minutes. Not much planned for tonight. I wonder if the meteor showers are still going. Love watching shooting stars. Might go to a monthly Farmers Market at a Plant Nursery about 15 mins drive away tomorrow morning. There are never very many stalls but they always have really good produce, crafts etc & the cafe there looks nice. Hopefully DD will come with. DH is working til 1 & wants to go for a bike ride late afternoon. He’s cooking Jamie Oliver’s carbonara which is a favourite. No plans for Sunday as yet. Bangers & mash for tea which makes me happy. Will pop over to see my folks at some point.

We have an exciting Saturday ahead of back to back kids parties! Plus a trip into town for school uniform and shoes. No current plans for Sunday but it’s forecast to be nice so hopefully get out and about and do something!

It's so hot here, that it's made everyone feel kind of washed out.
We're all just literally chilling inside with the AC .
If we have energy in the early morning we'll likely go to the market, they make the best samosas there, Vegetarian spicy Lentil and Apple spice are our favourites and will make for an easy tea!
We have talked about cycling by the canal where hopefully it's a little cooler, but will wait to see what it's like tomorrow.

Me and DD are getting our hair cut in the morning, that’s it as far as plans go. I’ll probably go to the gym early, might potter about in the garden for a couple of mins here and there between bouts of laying in the hammock reading my book or dozing.

Op I'm looking after my neighbours tortoise while he's in hospital. Going to try and put new kitchen carpet tiles down between checking on the tortoise

Bless you, that reads as if the tortoise is in hospital! Did make me smile 🙂

Getting up early ish tomorrow to do our c25k run before it gets too hot, then DP is playing cricket and I’m off to a posh spa day with my sister (paid for by her because she’s marvellous!) We’ve got a back and leg massage and a facial each booked and then spa access until late afternoon. It’s going to be lovely, it’s been a long time since we’ve had quality time together so can’t wait! 😊

Sunday DP and I plan to tackle the front garden, it needs weeding and then we’re going to build a bin shelter and potentially move the bike store from back to front if we create enough room…

Like you @BunnyLover7 I’m in Cornwall (further west I think, assuming your plant nursery is the one I think it is 😉) and currently trying to decide what to do tomorrow. Planning an early start to avoid the traffic, and ideally a walk and a swim somewhere away from the crowds.

I don’t really fancy doing much at all, the heat today has left me feeling rubbish with a splitting headache. However, we’re going out tomorrow for a bit of shopping/lunch, fortunately in a lovely centre with air con!

Sunday - nice quiet one. It’s been a long week so I can’t wait Grin

AutumnLover1989 · 15/08/2025 21:26

Having afternoon tea at the Blackpool tower ballroom. Looking forward to it 😃

Time2beme · 15/08/2025 21:30

Kids triathlon and dog walking tomorrow, then church Sunday am and a quiet afternoon, been a busy week and we all need a bit of down time.

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 15/08/2025 21:40

Out drinking tonight...
Meeting friends for drinks tomorrow...
Other friends on Sunday...

My liver will need to dry out by the time we go to Cornwall next Saturday...

My daughter is away for a few days from tomorrow morning, so I’ll be house-sitting in Bermondsey to water her garden. I’m planning on sitting in some shade on the South Bank with a good book, walking along the river, and exploring the Bermondsey/ London Bridge/ Southwark area. It’s also foodie heaven, so I’ll have to exercise immense self-restraint not to scupper my normally healthy diet.
