Alphaguess help please

I read a thread on here today and thought I’d have a go but Lordy it’s frustrating!

I’m currently stuck on an English word that comes before snottiness and after snort.

Please put me out of my misery.

Sorry I don’t know the rules but the word snot comes before snottiness alphabetically. Is that the kind of thing you mean?

Don’t be daft. Think of yourself as refined enough not to have ‘snot’ in your vocabulary
