Anyone else get motion sickness from Minecraft…

…or is it just me?

Daughters are obsessed with it and have some elaborate game on the go. They are working together to build a theme park on creative mode. It’s pretty good (as far as I can tell)!

They keep showing me roller coasters and water slides they have built. It makes me feel so weird! My eyes go funny and I feel migrainey and sick. It’s the same when they make the characters fall from a great height 🤢

Anyone else find this..? It’s only Minecraft this seems to happen, I can manage Mario Kart with no worries!

@KandyKrush me too...... I've tried playing the game too and it's just as bad!!! My sons always building complicated railways on it. I have to look away 😂

It's first person mode that causes it. Get them to swap into third person mode when they show you stuff.

It's a very common thing for people to get motion sickness from first person views. Some games that don't have a third person option will have other settings you can change to help deal with it. Mario Kart is third person so it makes sense that wouldn't bother you.

Me too. It started with Minecraft and now I can’t look at any computer games - DS (now late teens) was showing me something in Assassin’s Creed and I had to lie down for a bit because I felt so ill and wobbly.

Yes, me too. Any time I have a go at one of the kids' games, I feel billious. They think it's hillarious.

Not Minecraft but I used to play planet coaster and got exactly the same thing. I had to stop playing it!

I do with most video games (I didn’t know about first/third person mode) and I can’t do driving games, even though i am a very experienced driver.

Yes. I tried it once and felt really sick.
Can't play more than two Mario Kart races either.

Me! It was the main driving force for letting the PlayStation and the switch dock have a new home in the kids rooms!

I couldn't watch them on it. Even if I was sat reading my eyes would find themselves watching the screen!

DS2 has a VR as well and I dont know how he plays on that either. It makes me feel sick in minutes!

Yes Minecraft gives me a headache. They try to show me the places they have built, but then suddenly they drop down into a mine or something and it makes me go weird.

Makes me wonder how their brains have adapted….

This is interesting, I’ll try that.

These games though. I tried Minecraft and couldn’t even get the block to go where I wanted it to. I don’t understand how they build things so fast 😵‍💫
