what’s going on with Brooklyn Beckham?

jallyj · 12/08/2025 10:37

so he’s done a vow renewal after only getting wed in 2022 and none of his siblings or parents were there, just seems to have been organised by his billionaire wife’s parents. It looks like a very deliberate fuck you to his family. What can they have done to deserve such shocking treatment? It’s bizarre. And let’s hope the marriage to the (reportedly prickly, hard work) billionaire works, so he doesn’t have to come crawling back to Mum and Dad………

With NP she has a history of going for younger one & apparently being controlling but maybe it’s the family dynasty pulling strings, who knows.

Exactly. I should have added that both he and Prince Harry are not very intelligent, weak individuals, with pre-existing family issues. So the perfect prey for both NP and MM.

She’s not that old that I think you can see a pattern but she is clearly confident and knows what she wants and I think that ends up being controlling

he has been with older women before her and so has his brother. I wonder if they were made to grow up to soon and this relationship is partly issues with that and partly wanting to be treated as a kid

Maybe not but her ex was 17 & she was 22 & age gap & control re: Anwar significantly worried family, apparently.

Agree re: Beckham boys & age gap relationshios.

Yes - 'hello I'm here to fix the boiler'

'Can I take your name please?'

'Cruz Beckham'.

I know it's a joke but they absolutely could do a normal job (as Cruz Adams - VB's maiden name - or under any other name they wanted to change it to) - like the Oliver/Ramsey kids have done, if they wanted to. Or even a more glamour/celeb adjacent type - photographer, football assistant coach for Romeo, ambassador for a charity, luxury car salesperson, working in fashion, whatever - as long as they were prepared to put some work in.

There is a theory about generational wealth where children aren’t encouraged or enabled to work and rather live off the wealth of a previous generation…
First generation makes it, second generation uses it and the third generation loses it …

soupyspoon · 13/08/2025 19:07

If you didnt need to though, why would you?

If you w anted to, fair enough. If you needed to, then fair enough

If you dont need to and dont want to, why on earth would you?

I see as evidence that their lives are completely without purpose: no real career, not much in the way of education, little evidence of any talent, and thus this type of activity gives temporary focus. After this I imagine it’s back to holidays, another tattoo and showing us how to make a bowl of soup.

This^ I mean really who cares if the Beckham children don’t have jobs? They don’t need to, why put yourself through the stress of being a carpenter or a marine if you don’t want to?

aristocrats never work and no one cares about that. No one suggested Mary charites should do some manual labour or an apprenticeship 😂

stillavid · 13/08/2025 19:13

One of my DC is at a school where there are v famous offspring but they are totally anonymous as their parents have kept them off social media. I do think the Beckhams would have been well advised to do that.

She does. And he doesn't always seem to even like her and certainly doesn't respect her.

If it was VB saying that about Nicola and her career I'd be taking it with a pinch of salt. But it's pretty damning when it's her own mum.

So are we saying BB is collateral then? He’s just there to up her image and get her noticed. Once job is done and she’s well known in her own name what use will BB be to her then?

I imagine NP’s mum and dad are in on the act and that D&V have known this all along and probably tried to warn him but it backfired and he chose twist. Confused Just my two penneth worth.

She is the ‘nice’ one in the relationship .However, I think she helped create the arrogant twat that is Brand David Beckam.
When he was a young player he seemed sweet, unassuming and was only focused on his football
When he met Victoria he was totally enamoured with her and used to drive from Manchester to London to see her for an hour However, Victoria was obsessed by fame and helped create Brand Beckam .
Encouraging her husband to get his hair highlighted and wear sarongs
David Beckam then started to think that he was the dog’s bollocks and before you know it he was out there shagging other women.
The tables have turned and he is the one in the driving seat

Their boys seem lovely and polite but with little direction , which is a shame.

I’ve always thought this. David was totally in awe of Vic in the early days and he seemed quite young and shy in comparison to her. She was totally in the driving seat, calling the paps to a country hotel to let them know they were engaged, and he was just doing her bidding.

He fell out with Alex Ferguson and had to leave Man United as Fergie could see he’d lost him to fame.

Something shifted (when they moved to Spain?) and he seemed to distance himself from her, he really played up the Sex God image, his fame eclipsed hers and she was left with no music career, trying to get his attention.

He seems really distant from her these days. That man has a lot of secrets.

I don’t blame BB for bailing, his parents have used him to build their brand all his life, everything is for public consumption. What a shallow existence. Maybe the Peltz family like him for who he is, not what he can do for them?

You have to guide and advise children how to make it on their own in the world, a life without goals and hard work is pretty pointless.

MyPeppyTurtle · 13/08/2025 19:14

Two very out of touch spoiled brats........

Bruisername · 13/08/2025 19:15

as pp said - money is earnt and lost in 3 generations. Whilst wealthy, the beckahms don’t have the money to sustain their 4 kids plus grandkids etc

only the super wealthy who set up family trusts or have a big successful business can do it really

the beckhams don’t have a business they can pass on and they don’t have enough wealth for a trust fund to support future generations

Poor old Brooklyn - out of the frying pan into the fire.

JungAtHeart · 13/08/2025 19:24

All he’s ever learned from his parents is to stay relevant and in the public eye at all costs. Negative publicity, positive publicity …it doesn’t matter. Just make sure that you stay famous. The Beckhams used their children shamelessly to further the aims of ‘Brand Beckham’. Their greed saw them sell out their kids for the brand image of happy family. They were never afforded any privacy, they were never given the right to consent, they were commodities for a fake happy story who never hand the opportunity to figure out WHO they were or what THEY wanted. The writing has always been on the wall…

I have absolutely no idea... but it wouldn't come as a clattering shock if you were correct.

Have just finished Tom Bower’s book on the Beckhams. It is so worth the read. They are awful, awful people.

The first wedding was a fiasco between bad organisation, the argument over the dress and then Posh commandeering the first dance with Brooklyn.

People who have read the book will understand why he has perhaps decided to extricate himself from the brand. And it sounds like Ms. Peltz can’t stand her in-laws so I’m sure there is an element of ‘Fuck you’ to it as well.

The Beckhams will go to any lengths to stay relevant and current so this will be a win win, irrespective of any personal feelings.

Where does TB point the finger is it D or V who is the hardest work - or are they as bad as each other?

I was about to say the same thing, you dont see threads started about the offspring of Viscount this or The Worthington-Smythes of Ascot or whoever not having 'proper jobs'.

I think its because the Beckhams are working class stock, got rich and famous and people want to pull them down a peg or two, new money.

...because people of blue blood origins do normally actually have jobs and education....not rocket science

You obviously don’t know any 😂 they really don’t. Might open a nice little shop on the Pimlico road with daddy’s money. Or “work” in an art gallery. But actual work? They make Brooklyn look like Beyoncé

My cousins are all children of an heiress and have normal jobs and degrees despite not really needing to work.

Even pre social media the Beckham's managed to constantly get their kids into the papers and magazines by pre-arranging pap shots. Compare them to someone like Paul McCartney's youngest daughter who is around the same age as the Beckham kids, but I don't ever remember seeing photos of her in the papers every week.

Did the Beckham kids not go to school then?

Half the posh kids of 'blue blood' get kicked out of their boarding schools for minor drug dabbling and go on long travels and long parties half their lives. They manage the shares and trusts that their parents set up and dabble in a bit of business here, a bit of investment there, a bit more business over there.
They're not working at Tescos or as a teacher or police officer

They're essentially the same as the Beckham kids but without the fame.
