what’s going on with Brooklyn Beckham?

jallyj · 12/08/2025 10:37

so he’s done a vow renewal after only getting wed in 2022 and none of his siblings or parents were there, just seems to have been organised by his billionaire wife’s parents. It looks like a very deliberate fuck you to his family. What can they have done to deserve such shocking treatment? It’s bizarre. And let’s hope the marriage to the (reportedly prickly, hard work) billionaire works, so he doesn’t have to come crawling back to Mum and Dad………

Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham share pictures from wedding party

Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham shared pictures from their vow renewal on Instagram on Monday, which took place at her family's estate in Westchester County on August 2.

Its terrible that he / they are absent from family events like David's 50th etc etc. It looks like a major rift. 3 yrs and then vow renewal. It does look like they are trying to erase wedding no 1 . I thought her wearing her mothers old wedding dress really nice.
I remember buying hello when David Married Victoria and brooklyn was like 2 yrs old. Plastered over hello. Big idiots doing that. Harper dressing like a 17 yr old age 13 !! Like dont think they are great parents at all. Not one of their older kids seem to have a job although Romeo did model for burberry at one point.
I mean there is GRamsays kids one in the military and one i think ambulance/ first responder
( he appeared on masterchef and said this)
Jamie olivers daughter is training to be a nurse
Like seriously why can't they get jobs!!!
Poor BB. He will be cast aside soon enough OR they will last due to their mutual hatred of his family

What???

Brooklyn is heading for 27 - he's in his late 20's - left education almost a decade ago.

With all of the cash, contacts and opportunities at his disposal you would have thought he would have found his path in the last 10 years.

Totally agree. I don't know why we infantalise famous people on here, I've seen it before with others on mumsnet.

When I think what my adult DCs had achieved by his age, I am taken aback that posters think he is still finding his way.
He'll never find his way. He's pratted around trying too many different avenues with no success. He has no drive or hunger or overrriding interests. He doesn't need it as he is well oiled money wise.
When your parents buy you a million pound Maserati at 18yo, why would you even try?

Someone referred to them all as failures and I was merely pointing out that two of them are still teenagers!

I think this is very harsh - all of them including Brooklyn are still very young.

I was responding to your point above. IMHO a man in his late 20s, nearly a decade out of education/training is not 'very young'.

He is young! Loads of people his age haven’t figured their lives out yet. I wouldn’t write anyone off as a failure at the age of 27.

They will likely continue the legacy of generational trauma of their dysfunctional families once they start replicating - which will be soon as N-PB is 30.

TheAutumnCrow · 13/08/2025 11:30

Maybe it’s more a case of look for the organ-grinder.

Maybe what Nelson wants, Nelson gets.

SkylarFalls · 13/08/2025 11:33

jallyj · 12/08/2025 10:50

completely cutting out his family is very odd though. I’ve seen this happen in a few situations with a controlling spouse who doesn’t want the in-laws around so convinces their partner to cut them off. Weird unless David and Victoria have done something to really seriously piss them off.

It's not necessarily her pulling the strings

People who don't know how to "leave" on their own can use a new partner (and their family) as their springboard. So it looks like the new spouces doing, but really it was brewing all along .

Brooklyn looks thick as mince, and is extremely un-attractive looking. He doesn't even have the interestingly not good looking look that can work in fashion. And he has awful posture and body language. And that's after his parents sent him to schools that would have taught presence and charm, as well as all the coaching he would have had when he trylied to be a model. The modeling he has done looks like favours pulled by mum.

Hes probably been having existential crisis for years about wanting to be HIS OWN MAN. But he didn't know how to live without his parents money and connections. And he's not bright enough to strike out on his own, and not got the looks or charm to even be a midrange Nepo baby influencer.

Now he's got someone else's money and connections and for now that's feeling like independence to him, because it's not his parents money and connections.

But he'll be bored and resentful soon. And so will she

And a vow renewal is summit to do, especially if you're thick and can't figure out anything else to do despite all your resources and advantages.

I base these opinions on absolutely nothing 🤣 but isn't that what we all do re celebs?

Sadly I think that’s true. If BB and Nicole do have a child and splash it all over social media (or more likely sell photos to Hello magazine) he’ll be guilty of precisely what he probably resent his own parents for. The only way any of the Beckham kids can break the dysfunctional cycle would be to quietly go off and forge their own career path on merit and live a life out of the spotlight. I’d put money on that not happening with any of them.

My goodness... if my DCs had been wandering around aimlessly doing bugger all at 27, I would be seriously worried!

Different if they were on a long medicine Uni course or wanting a change in direction from what they had been doing.

Funnily enough, I know someone like this. The youngest son of a friend (more of an acquaintance now).
His parents bought him a flat in an upmarket area and was still giving him pocket money in his late twenties! In other words, financing him.
He always said he wanted to be an 'entrepreneur' and would never work for anyone. Okaaaay... he set up a business and made barely any money at all, that's folded now.
He is unbelievably entitled and at 33 is still just golfing and going to the gym. My DC is same age and been working her way up since Uni.

Bankrolling kids never works.

jumpintheline · 13/08/2025 11:42

It'll be tough for David and Victoria if/when N+B have a baby 😢

The Peltz siblings seem well adjusted with stable relationships & sports careers etc.

He’s a master strategist, possibly a bit of a King Lear iykwim.

No idea about the others but I wouldn't call Nicola 'well adjusted' and she certainly doesn't have a career to speak of besides what she got as a result of nepotism

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 13/08/2025 11:52

I don't want to quote them because they're both a bit long but the measured and eloquent posts by @latetothefisting and @Borisssss are excellent and I agree wholly with both.

If he’s the sort of person to dump his parents just to bed in with his richer in-laws more then more fool him. I suppose it may all be happening subconsciously rather than a conscious decision. If there’s a combination of FIL being controlling and Nicola being a daddy’s girl then Brooklyn may have a fear that if he doesn’t cosy up to them either the cash gets cut off or she divorces him.

seems like the vow renewal is almost a way of starting a new life without his parents. Whole set of new “wedding” memories and photos without them.

This. I cant believe she wouldn't have an absolutely iron clad prenup either (and if he hadn't been getting on with his parents on top of being a bit dumb I dont think it would have been made fairly or with him getting any legal advice either). Especially as its not her money. So either he sucks up to the PIL/wife or hes out on his ear with no cash.

Only Harper is a teenager, Cruz is nearly 21. Brooklyn is 27. I'd love to give them all the benefit of the doubt but I can't see any of them deciding the life of an influencer is not for them and trying to find a job job where their self worth isn't defined by likes.

LidlAmaretto · 13/08/2025 11:58

The only exception I would make is Queen Elizabeth who was a wonderful Queen for over 70 years.
She may well have been but surely the most significant aspect of her job, considering she is an hereditary Monarch is to ensure she is inflicting decent people on us as her heirs and spares. She (and Philip) were woeful parents to Charles and have produced Andrew ('nuff said) Even if she did zero hands on parenting herself, she could at the very least have told the nannies to discipline them! She has done what the Beckhams have done. Produced spoilt and entitled children.

What will the Katie Price kids end up doing & will it be different re: children of Emily & Peter Andre?

Anne seems ok & Edward too. Genetics play a massive part in everything IQ & practical/sports ability & character. Parents & Nannies can only do so much. Kids are a combo of parents, grandparents etc.

There’s a difference between calling them ordinary and calling them failures. They’ve barely begun their lives.

Not what I said. AT ALL.

She was quick to raid the tax-payers piggy bank to the tune of £13, 000, 000 in order to pay off and cover up vile PAs involvment in sex trafficking. Anything she did before or since is totally tarnished in my mind.

surprisebaby12 · 13/08/2025 12:15

One of the biggest curses to these celeb kids is the fact it destroys any chance at a normal career. Many would actually be better suited to needing and pursuing a normal job. Brooklyn is a good example. All the things he’s wanted to do have felt too hard because to do it properly he’d need to put in 12 hour days, which privilege would never allow him to endure.

As for the feud, it seems driven by his wife because she seems to call the shots and he’s enamoured. The fact the other kids aren’t close with him says everything really.

I don’t understand how he can be comfortable with officiating the ceremony that obviously B’s parents will have seen but weren’t invited to.
I don’t think he would have given them or the situation between B and his family a thought. Clearly no integrity and no compassion for anyone outside of his own family.
