so he’s done a vow renewal after only getting wed in 2022 and none of his siblings or parents were there, just seems to have been organised by his billionaire wife’s parents. It looks like a very deliberate fuck you to his family. What can they have done to deserve such shocking treatment? It’s bizarre. And let’s hope the marriage to the (reportedly prickly, hard work) billionaire works, so he doesn’t have to come crawling back to Mum and Dad………

I've not read through this thread, but here is my opinion.
Brooklyn has had a front row seat to his parents' marriage, which is highly rumoured to be dysfunctional, but one which neither will leave outside of a coffin.
Ms Peltz's parents' marriage is not a concern of decades long rumours of infidelity, outside children, sidepiece NDAs, having to smile at functions where one's husband has more than one ex sidepiece in attendance and him having a best friend (not Mr Neville) who is an enthusiastic wingman who shares the same "community dick" activities.
Brooklyn has escaped them and their pr and their need to be seen as a close knit family .

As indolent as she appears, it could only be a straight shooting American who would show Mr and Mrs Beckham that they.are not the boss of their son.

Worse, she comes from wealth which makes them look like Hurry Come Ups.
And I bet that Brooklyn has found a real confidante in Nicola.
All of the Beckham boys seem listless with Harper being the Golden Child.

Honestly how would we know what’s gone on?! Some families are just awful or have toxic dynamic. Who’s knows. Maybe the beckhams are one of them.

I don’t like the way the beckhams push their kids into the spotlight. For Brooklyn in particular it’s made him a figure of fun and escaping to the states and being with someone who doesn’t care about his name must be liberating

we don’t know how his relationship with his parents was before he met Nicola - perhaps he felt stifled and controlled but not protected and he gets the opposite in his marriage

i hope for his sake that his marriage works tbh as I do feel sorry for him

It must be hard being the son or daughter of talent that makes a fortune. Your parent or parents become successful so how can you better that? One of Springsteens sons is a firefighter, one of Roger Taylor (Queen) sons is a GP. You have to do do something different to make your mark. If you could be a Nobel Prize winner fantastic but your parents are rich so what incentive is there for you unless you are motivated. Can you imagine winning a large amount of money and having teenagers. Would they go to work/university or would they want to be on holiday for the rest of their lives? That's a holiday with beautiful people and everything privilege buys

This in a nutshell. Two boring, vain , empty individuals who just threw money around, without modelling anything to their children.

I imagine having access to large amounts of cash from a young age makes a big difference. My children would have to work on summer hols as late teens etc regardless of ££ & certainly for a living.

I don’t that’s the case she seems very close to his mother and sister. It’s a very sad case as they have given their kids everything and something has happened to totally fracture the relationship. Imagine starting out at something and having millions of people take the piss. If your dad’s mate helps you onto an electrical apprenticeship or whatever, nobody shouts nepotism or says oh aren’t you shit at electrics (yes because you just started). Gordon Ramsay is literally his dad’s mate and helped him with cheffing
Of course most parents, if they had contacts in the types of areas their kids wanted to go into would help them as much as they could. Nepotism can only get you a foot in the door. Once you get there you have to work hard to be accepted and then still demonstrate you have the talent. No one is going to give an ex footballers son, or even an actors kid £££ if they don't have any talent or draw crowds or are just simply awful/crap/dont do any work. The difference is that the Beckham's haven't given their kids a foot in the door. They have thrown money at every single whim they have without instilling any work ethic. It was 'Heres a few thousand quid for you to publish your book of shit photography with zero effort from you'. IMO its why the kids are useless at everything. They have the doors opened but they surely must have been told by their parents that that is all they need. When people talk about nepo babies, yes they are irritating because they have a foot in the door that others don't but once they have an established career at least they have worked on it and established themselves. And many have proved excellent in their own right.

Exactly the public face presented maybe very very different to what goes on behind closed doors.
