Best hotel for Birmingham Hippodrome, bull ring and Christmas Market

Can anyone recommend a decent hotel in Birmingham. I usually default to Hilton I have gold status and get perks they are all a 20 minute walk or Uber so all chains brands welcome.

I’ve looked on a map and I’m not sure which is the best area to stay in as we will go to all the places above and convenient to the train station to collect bags on way home. Need breakfast a room for two adults and a tall 14 year old.

I have Soho House taste on a premier inn budget.

Birmingham city centre is pretty small and the station, bullring and Christmas market are very close to each other. The Christmas market extends away from the bullring in the opposite direction to the hippodrome. The Hippodrome is near the Arcadian and Chinese quarter which is busy of an evening and can get noisy if you are staying there.

There’s a lot of hotels off broad street (the far end of the Christmas market) and it’s not too far to walk to the hippodrome from there anyway.

The mailbox is quite central for both the market and Hippodrome

If you wanted a hotel around st Phillips eg hotel du vin that’s a bit further away from the action but still easily walkable

100% go for Hotel du Vin. Had a fabulous time there in February this year. Amazing value for what you get. Walkable to where you want to be.

If it’s budget limited I’d look at The Burlington - faded but once grand, cheapish, dated but large rooms - excellent bar in the basement. On New Street so right in the middle of the market

Alternatively Stay Cool at the Rotunda

The Cube has a lovely roof top bar and very fancy parking!

The Burlington is nice & very central.

The Novotel on Broad Street is decent value too. There’s even a Wetherspoons hotel at The Briar Rose - great location but the weirdest rooms I’ve ever stayed in 😂.

Plenty of Premier Inns centrally and they have Premier plus rooms. Would be the best budget option and you could get a family room plus kids eat breakfast free.
