I love buying on Vinted. Had a bit of a wild buying time the last few months but stopped this week as I’m away for a few days.

Anyway, found something I’ve been looking for for weeks! Doesn’t come up often and sells very quickly. Bought it immediately on Saturday evening and then messages seller asking if she could hold off posting until end of the week as I am away from Tuesday until Monday next week. Absolutely she says. Will post Friday. Perfect!

However, she then posted that evening and it’s due to arrive tomorrow or Thursday and I’m away and will likely be returned to seller before I’m back (3 day rule for my local I post).

What happens next? I had prewarned her I’m away. Will I need to pay postage again? I really want this item and I’m a bit annoyed.

There is nobody near me who can collect on my behalf.

Depends, is it going to a locker or delivery point? Or home address? If its your home address, the postman here would just leave it on the doorstep. And then it will register as delivered but you won't get a chance to log any issues as the 2 days will be up before you're home! That's what happened to me 😀 thankfully it was fine though.

Its going to a locker.

If it's to a locker then yes, it will be returned to her when the time is up. You could ask her to relist and reserve for you to purchase again but you'd have to pay a second lot of postage. If it's home delivery then ours would just throw it over the fence so you'll risk damage. I think it's just time to cross your fingers sadly.

Can't you just ask someone like a neighbour to collect it for you, and you then go and collect it from them? There must be someone you can ask.

Edited

I’d do this in your position. I have friends who would happily do this for me knowing I’d do the same for them. I do appreciate not everyone has such friends locally but hopefully OP does.
