Patrick Kielty: strange reporting

Wasntmeanttobelikethis · 11/08/2025 13:51

Is it just me, or does the reporting of Patrick Kielty’s marriage split seem a bit odd?
The Daily Fail keeps stating about how his parents knew when it ( the marriage) was ending
Just seems a very strange angle of the story on which to focus
i know that media sometimes use the tactic of reporting something to thinly veil, or hint at, a more sensitive story
The news about his split emerged about the same time as Myleene Klass, her ex and Rochelle Humes? Is the Fail hinting that they are all connected?

Patrick Kielty's father was shot dead by terrorists when he was a teenager. If the Mail or any other rag are reporting what his parents think then they are obviously writing total tripe.

Bingbangboo · 11/08/2025 18:00

It's just the usual misogyny I think. She's a terrible, selfish woman for not attending his mother's funeral. Never mind asking whether he wanted her there, or indeed if he expressly asked her not to attend. Surely it's such a personal and painful time in their lives it is none of anyone else's business.

His dad was murdered in 1988…

indoorplantqueen · 11/08/2025 18:30

And his mum died earlier this year

PInkyStarfish · 11/08/2025 18:34

The not going to his mother’s funeral is an angle for the media to exploit.

He hasn’t publicly commented so for all anyone knows is that he asked her not to come!

ColadhSamh · 11/08/2025 18:36

Some insensitive reporting. His Da was murdered by the UVF in 1988. The absence of his wife and his childrden at his Ma's funeral was a huge indication that something was wrong. Big red flag at an Irish funeral.

JackJarvisEsq · 11/08/2025 18:42

His father was killed in 1988 so unless the Heil have access to the afterlife I think we can conclude their stories are pish

the couple made a statement, we’ve read it and as far as I’m concerned that’s all business concluded for the public

Maybe she fell out with his mother, bad blood in the family which made it a better option for her to stay away.

lnks · 11/08/2025 18:47

The reports say that his family knew rather than parents 🤷‍♀️

Apologies, I didn’t realise his father had passed away; didn’t intend to be insensitive

He didn't "pass away". He was murdered.

Chattanoogachoo · 11/08/2025 19:56

They're middle aged adults and there's no need to be blaming either of them.
As another poster has suggested there seems to be another story lurking and I think the scene is being set for it

Was trying to use sensitive language

Saying someone 'passed away' when they were murdered is in itself insensitive.

And I wouldn't trust a single word printed in that rag anyway.

I agree there seems to be lots of reporting of the same story without saying much additional information. Its their own private business and should be left as such but I do agree I feel another possibly connected story will break soon. An affair by one or both of them. Massive red flag in Ireland for a daughter in law not to attend a MIL funeral. Unheard of practically and children wouldnt miss a grandparents funeral, school or not. Its been over a while I would say.

Its been talked about on some gossip websites, so the DFail have interpreted mild comment as newsworthy for the sidebar of shame. \

I can't imagine its good for anyone.

Smallgnomethingy · 12/08/2025 08:16

Very misogynistic article, clearly setting the scene for Cat to be blamed for their divorce later down the line.

I disagree. Passed away/ died describes the state of a person, that is, whether they are dead or alive
Murdered describes how a person died.

They are a middle aged couple with kids who have split up.
That happens every day. You would hope that they could be left to move on with their lives. I don't read that rag and have only learned on here that his Mum recently died ( knew about his Dad from a programme he did). Sounds like a tough part of his life he is going through.

Toohotforthis · 12/08/2025 23:43

But what would be the connection between them & Myleen Klass and the other one??

Not sure it's an Irish thing, highly unusual anywhere to not attend your MIL funeral without a back story of no contact etc?
