Naked biker riders - has this been through your town, did it make you use your car less? ?

On the way into town yesterday and there was a bit of a hold up on the way, not unusual on a Saturday lunchtime.

As we moved along towards the town centre I realised it was the Naked Bike ride lot. Around 20-30 people biking along at a snails pace. From what we could see they were all men and all older men at that. I had no idea yesterday was our town's lucky day for this event as I don't read the local news etc.

Now, I am all for body positivity and have no problem with nudists or naturists expressing their bodily freedom but within their own spaces (nudist beaches, campsites etc).

A quick google tells me these events are a peaceful protest about the over use of cars, oil and global warming etc but surely most people are going to look at a load of naked people on bikes and go 'Ahh, my eyes, my eyes' or 'Well, that was weird' and move on with their lives, I can't see many people googling to find out why these guys were stark bollock naked and think 'Oh yes, I must use my car less'

All I saw yesterday was a group of old nude men (I didn't see any woman), one was even wearing a weird kinky looking rabbit mask. I know there are lots of people supporting these guys or saying it's really nothing to get hot under the collar about but let's be honest, surely, for some of these people it's a major kink or they are just exhibitionists who will use any old excuse to get their kit off in public. Or maybe at 52 I have just had a gut load of men and 20-30 wrinkly old over-tanned bodies riding towards me when I was just getting on with my day was enough to give my perimenopausal gut the major ick yesterday (although it even turned my dd18 stomach green and she loves wearing next to nothing!).

No it just made me feel a bit sick

MJ1980 · 10/08/2025 17:35

Are they stopping off for rest stops? Stood around starkers?

It just makes me think they are a bunch of filthy paedophiles

Why do you equate nudity with paedophilia ?

I was thinking about this at the time, as I'm not against nudity, at home or at the beach. I decided I didn't like it because of the purposeful breaking of boundaries. The exposure of male genitals to children (all the riders shown on the flyer were male). The intentional shock and alarm it would cause to children and their parents, the distress to their Mothers especially.
Yet you could not prove it was illegal as there was no way of proving the thoughts of a person - sneaky hey?!
It's not pedophilia but it is grooming, which benefits pedophiles.

You can infer the thoughts from the actions. Courts do it all the time.

Men putting their junk on display or mooning to the general public for laughs after a night in the pub are no different in action from men doing the same on bicycles for some “cause”. The naked cyclists are probably worse actually, as they gather together to make a moving parade of unattractive genitals and wrinkly arses on saddles, for a long time.

Nitgel · 10/08/2025 12:03

Just pervy blokes hiding behind a cause. I was in hastings and saw the naked cyclist there. Grim all round.

Yup

Why do you not see that these men are going nude in front of children?

Would you still not think paedophilia if a man in a trench coat flashed his genitals to children in the street? What's the difference here? A bike??? Indecent Exposure is Indecent Exposure. What sort of man wants to expose his genitals to passing children?

TBH they go past pretty fast - you don’t exactly get much of an eyeful, even if you wanted one.
And I don’t suppose I’m the only one whose Gdcs (10, 9, 5) would almost certainly only find it very funny.

cramptramp · 10/08/2025 18:13

I think they are exhibitionists who are delighted they’ve now got a (very flimsy) excuse to get their clothes off in public.

scalt · 10/08/2025 18:19

Was Greta Thunberg on a bike with them? How else would we know that it was an “environmental” protest? And did they cycle all the way from their home towns, or were the bikes taken from their Range Rovers or similar gas guzzlers?

Exactly this, they were riding through our town with big fat grins on their faces and you could just tell they were revelling in it, they know they are shocking people and deep down there is no cause they are truly passionate about, the only thing they want to do is show off the parts of their bodies which should not be for all to witness. They are perverted twats through and through and no one can convince me otherwise.

They are gross. I don't know why indecent exposure is supposed to be ok, because they're riding bikes.

Children might find a man in a trenchcoat flashing them, funny - it doesn't make it right. Adults are supposed to understand safeguarding and not form opinions on what children find 'funny'.

Allseeingallknowing · 10/08/2025 18:37

Is there a list of counties and dates when they’ll be passing through ? Asking for a friend…

martinisforeveryone · 10/08/2025 18:48

smallglassbottle · 10/08/2025 13:41

Exhibitionists hoping for a bit of attention.

That's my opinion.

Yes they get people talking, but we're talking about their nudity in public, their use of hire bikes and the offence caused, or otherwise if that floats your boat.

No one is watching them and thinking, I'll take the bus, or hire a bike.

I only use my car when it's necessary any way so they have absolutely no useful affect on my lifestyle.

Do you have a problem with men waving their willies at your seven year old daighter, or is it ok if you think they are "fit"? There really isn't a difference. There are certain things that children do not need in the public sphere. That is not about prudery, it is about decency.

i have a 7 year old and 3 year old nephews, we're southern europeans and go to nude beaches in summer all the family (grandma and grandpa included) so they're used somehow used to seeing all sorts of naked bodies. I don't think they would be too shocked at a bunch of old guys riding their bikes butt naked and minding their own business. I would have a massive issue with anyone waving her/his genitals at my nephew, that's a whole different can of worms.

Edited

A man in a trench coat (or ‘dirty raincoat’ as we used to say) flashing a child or children, is IMO a very different thing from 50 or more naked cyclists just pedalling all together along the road.

2Magpies24 · 10/08/2025 19:21

Nope. Just made me vow never to use our towns boris bike equivalent.

They certainly weren't going slow yesterday, they were all going at a snails pace with a long tailback of traffic behind them. These guys were totally aware of what they were doing.

And how do we know that the dirty old man flashing in the raincoat isn't also one of the 'innocent' old men riding their bike naked through your local town centre?
I just can not trust someone who thinks it's acceptable to show off their whole body to those who frankly would rather not see such a sight. If someone is a naturist and wishes to hang out with other naturists within their own private area then that's perfectly ok but anything outside of that is down right perverted and weird.

No, it really isn't.

The only difference is what the male is wearing, not wearing. Both entail a male exposing his genitals to children (and adults).

MrsMoastyToasty · 10/08/2025 21:42

They've had them in Bristol in the past. Apparently they start at The Full Moon pub.

A bunch of flaccid willies and bums flapping in the bike motion - yeah that's immediately going to make me leave the car at home.

Let's be honest here - it's an excuse for men to get their knobs out. They never really do move past that fascination with the fact Mother Nature gifted them a willy do they?

This made me giggle more than was seemly 🤣🤣

Cannongoose · 10/08/2025 23:23

I saw them
in Cowdray Avenue OP and later on Hythe Hill with pants on and speaking to the police (will have to name change now obvs)…
That mask was freaky…
