Tattoo and Scarring

Random question, has anyone ever had a tattoo to cover scarring? I’m not sure if it’s something that’s able to be done, but thought I’d see if anyone has to see if it’s a thing.

I have a couple of scars which don’t bother me, but one I have is bright red on my fair skin and not sure why but I’m self conscious of this one and have thought of getting maybe small floral tattoo to either go over it, or around it closely to hide it, just not sure if it’s a bad idea. I’ll check with a tattooist first but didn’t know if anyone had experience of it.

Morning op, I have a full leg and arm sleeve covering scars. And they have covered them very well 😊

I have a large tattoo over my mastectomy scar. It’s definitely doable, but it’s good to check if your chosen tattoo artist has experience of covering scars.

Great, I wasn’t sure if it would aggravate them, I can imagine it feels very sensitive being done? Yes, will now have a look around and see if I can find anyone with experience. Thanks for the replies 😊.

@Justpeachy88sorry op just seen you have replied ! No mine weren’t sensitive at all being tattooed over. Even the healing process was the same as though it was normal skin.
