Nervous learner driver – roads around here feel unsafe

I’m learning to drive and I’m finding it stressful because of how other drivers behave in my area. I’ve had cars pull out when I have right of way, been cut off, and the main issue is people not indicating or speeding.

There’s a main road that leads to other towns near me, but I’m scared to go on it. There’s been accidents quite a few times, seems like there’s one every week. People drive so fast and don’t seem to pay attention. I’m trying to build my confidence, but the way others drive makes me worry I’ll freeze or make a mistake.

Has anyone else dealt with this while learning? How did you get over the fear of other drivers being unpredictable, particularly at high speeds

That’s just part of driving. You can never really trust the other cars on the road, you just have to learn how to respond to them safely. With experience you will be able to predict these things. Good luck
