Extremely painful in general can’t hardly swollow eat or drink, feel absolutely well in myself just my throat and neck that’s hurting so much tried getting out of hours gp no luck going to have to wait til Monday

Be careful as tonsillitis can turn I to quinsy. Can you swallow your own saliva? That's the point when they went into action with my son. Sort of drooling.

I can but is so painful and I’m not able to swollow all the saliva, there’s a constant funny taste in my mouth and I’m randomly gipping abit

Looks like it me. You can use Pharmacy First service to get a rapid Strep test and they can provide antibiotics if needed.

My son had iv antibiotics and then surgery. I know it's very painful if it turns I to quinsy. I hope you're ok.

Have you called 111? When my son has tonsillitis, they spoke to him on the phone and sent a prescription to a local pharmacy.

Go to A& E. I had a quinsy and it was too late for antibiotics. I had to have it drained and I was admitted to hospital for 2 days.

What’s the difference from strep and tonsillitis?

Yes a doctor is calling me with a appointment I had suspected Quinsy before had to spend 3 days on drip in hospital

Looks like white spots on your tonsils to me and they seem red and swollen. Do you have a cough? Strep is a bacteria that can cause the tonsils to become infected. I would go to the pharmacy and they can give you antibiotics if needed.

Yes I'd say so. I'd ring 111 for antibiotics and start gargling with salt water or soluable aspirin. Take paracetamol or Ibuprofen I you have a temperature.,

That looks like strep and it looks really painful. You need antibiotics….

It looks like my throat when I had tonsillitis. The give away is white spots and I always need antibiotics when it gets to that stage. I phoned 111 because it was a weekend and I felt horrific. They got me an appointment at a walk in centre later that day so I didn't have to sit in the waiting room for hours. The walk in centre gave me antibiotics there and then. Takes a few days to take effect so I would get them as soon as possible.

Looks exactly like the strep I had when I felt totally fine in myself all the way up until I didn't. glad you're getting an appt - you'll be right as rain with a dose of antis.

I had similar last weekend. I went to a chemist and they prescribed penicillin. In and out within 20 mins. No appointment needed.

I can see spots all over your tonsils in the picture.

Quinsy is the worst. When my so. Was a baby about 14 years ago now, I went through a period of getting it every six to 8 weeks. Was admitted to hospital and kept in overnight twice. The speed I went from feeling a bit iffy in the morning to being unable to breathe or swallow my own spit by late afternoon was terrifying. They took my tonsils out after the third time.

No they didn't. We went into consultation room . He got my details up. Looked at my throat and said I'll do a prescription. I was day 5 into it also had painful ears but he didn't look at them. Lots of pharmacists do that services. I've had it at Asda and boots in the past too
