Ideas for sturdy double bed with storage - thanks!

Hi all, I am looking for a double bed for my daughter. She's almost 10 but she needs help getting to sleep at night and I am struggling with sitting on her bedroom floor each night to rub her back etc. So my plan is to get a double bed either with drawers or space to put under bed storage boxes underneath. Then I can lie next to her and be much more comfy until she drifts off and I can make a swift exit!

She is quite boisterous and likely to throw herself onto the bed rather than calmly climb in, so I need to get something that can withstand her energy (and often anger).

Any suggestions welcome! I have found a few on Dunelm or John Lewis etc that looks nice but despite the many good reviews, there are always a fair number of bad ones with mid support snapping or some other bits breaking off and that's what I can see happening to us with DD if we don't get something that's pretty sturdy.

Thank you!

I’ve been looking at the iron beds from here, they seem to have good reviews
currently have a metal bed and mine has done 20 years happily but I cannot remember where it’s from!

IKEA beds have been good for my kids, drawers and a mattress topper for extra snuggly comfort! I bought one 5 years ago and it’s been great! I bought an ottoman bed from a bed company I didn’t t know for DD who was 11 at the time and it lasted a year before it broke. And bought another bed from an online bed retailer and that was crap too so it’s in our spare room as Comfy but too soft for every day bed

I bought my DD a double divan with drawers, it’s basically bomb proof.

Thanks all. I will check out all your suggestions! I was wondering about a divan bed, I'm not that keen on the look of them but practicality is more important at this point I think!

Have you thought about ottoman beds? I have one from dreams and it seems sturdy and it gives lots of storage. It just depends on how often you need to use the stuff stored, I don’t to think it would be good for every day access.

I have an ottoman be from a website esupasaver it’s the third bed from there and they’ve all been brilliant. They’re relatively inexpensive but they’re solid. They’re self assembly, really easy to build up and they are sturdy and withstand a lot!

Ikea here too. DD has the Malm with storage drawers underneath. Did spring for the more expensive slats but it’s been rock solid and I couldn’t fault it.

Got an ottoman bed from dunelm recently, dd is 18, 6ft tall and not dainty- so far so good!
We did look at the ikea ottoman but dd didn't like the pointy corners.

Thanks all! I like ottoman beds but I think probably not right for DD as it will need to store stuff she uses day to day. I can also see her playing with the mechanism and either hurting herself or breaking it!
I feel a trip to IKEA coming on....!
I wish Dunelm had more stuff on display in their shops, I like to see before I buy.
Thanks again!
