First solo holiday

I'm hoping to go on holiday with DC, early next year. Where would you go?

I'm a lone parent, don't drive and have never been abroad myself. I've only ever been on holiday alone once and that was in the UK. So practical and safe location recommendations would be ideal, if anyone can share them.

TIA

What sort of ages? What sort of activities do you like? Good food? Pretty scenery? Pool/beach? Are you ok with heat?

Sorry DC will be almost 2 when the holiday will be. I'm more of a tourist/look arounder than a beach holiday type person but understand both might be necessary with a toddler. I'm also not a big fan of British heat. Food is always welcome, would be practical to have somewhere that includes some meals or has places to eat within a short distance.

Are you looking for UK or abroad ideas? UK Liverpool is good main train station in the city centre. Lots of free child friendly places to visit. Can get train to beaches in The Wirral or Formby/Crosby.

Weymouth. Go by train. Ideal beach for little ones - you can walk out for ages and still only be up to your knees😁Probably a few days would be enough unless you can research bus trips for days out.

Where do you live?

If you’re near London a trip to Paris on the Eurostar could be good. Don’t have to worry about car seats etc. Could stay somewhere with a kitchen so you can cook some of your own meals

I live in Newcastle area. I'm happy with a UK holiday, its probably preferable as I think it might a bit ambitious trying to navigate my own first holiday abroad with a toddler in tow.
