Finally getting my teeth done

Had awful dentistry done when I was a child. Managed to save a decent amount of money even as a single mum, and have paid 6k to have my teeth done.

Scale and polish
5 big fillings being replaced with white ones
Teeth being whitened
White fillings being put into some small chips on my front teeth
Two crowns which should never have been fillings
Night guard for my grinding
Composite bonding to fill a couple of gaps
Replacement bridge for my front tooth (I have hypodontia)

Had my first lot of fillings replaced today and I have never felt so happy 💞

Just a yay for me post!

That's brilliant, you will feel so happy and have a more confident smile.

Well done Op!

I decided to get mine done earlier in the year, pregnancy and a genetic condition ruined my teeth and I hated how they looked.
I had 4 fillings
two extractions
scale and polish
whitening
clear aligners

I had my final treatment appointment last month and the aligner scans done so now I’m just waiting for them to be fitted, so excited!

Cost me around £4700 but I’m paying it monthly which is easier. My only regret is not deciding to do it 10 years ago.

Amazing. Well done! Can I ask how they did the whitening and if you will needed to have it topped up?

I find it incredibly hard to spend money on myself, so it was a big step. I've also never spent that kind of money on anything other than cars 😅 I have about 12 more sessions until it's all done but cannot wait to have a nice smile again.

Well done OP. Really pleased for you, I had braces as a teen but they weren't effective, age 40 I got fixed braces which were on for a few years and got other dental work done, so happy I did it! Congratulations. Keep going!

I took the plunge last year on ceramic braces, having watched my teeth increasingly turn inward, I looked like I'd been punched in the mouth. It's a long haul but looking forward to the results.

I am really happy for you. Dental work is a huge phobia of mine but I feel inspired by your post.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 09/08/2025 22:04

Well done, OP! You are very brave to be undertaking all of that work!

I found having braces as a teen (to align very wonky teeth, thanks to me winning the genetic lottery in that department...) more than enough hassle, but I wish that I had your bravery to further improve my confidence and smile!

Good luck with the rest of it, and I hope that it all goes well for you 😋

Oooh tell me about the whitening! I’m considering it for next year, (only at my dentist as I trust him). How do they do it? Does it leave your teeth sensitive
