Anyone else having a terrible day 😪

It started so well, I got my new vacuum cleaner, after a week, and managed to clean the living room and suck up so much dirt

Onto my bedroom, managed to deep clean under the bed - ended up breaking the bed

Then I fell on the stairs, managed to catch myself before falling down them - but I think ive broken my toe! Its hurting badly and I've no idea how I will dd to the swimming pool tomorrow

And to top it off, ive devoured a plate of chips when i'm meant to be on a diet

😪😪😪

The chips dilute the bad day surely?

Sorry about your vacuum and toe. I broke my toe accidentally kicking my husband.

I am having a crap week. Need to not pick up my phone. Do Not Text.

Sorry youre having a bad week xx - mumsnet can distract you from texting someone, it often happens to me

He was knelt on the floor and I walked passed him. Genuine accident.

Going to read my book as I am losing the power to not pick up my phone.
enjoy your chips

Redundancies have been announced at work, so I will likely be one as I’m still relatively new. It isn’t the end of the world as we can cope, but I hate job hunting, it’s so hard.

I'm sorry 😞 - jobsearching is horrible - fingers crossed for you that you won't have to

Hope you've got nothing but relaxation planned for the weekend x

On Tuesday I had to travel for work. Started the day well by falling in the shower (well, more of a graceless slide to the floor). Nothing hurt but I was shaken. Got to the train station to find all the trains to London were cancelled except one meaning I was cutting it very fine to catch my train from Euston. Made the train with just a couple of minutes to spare only to find I’d lost my corporate credit card in the rush which I’d used on the tube. It had obviously fallen out of my pocket in the mad gallop to get the train. If that wasn’t bad enough, the carriage I was sitting in was hotter than satan’s jockstrap which didn’t go down well in my menopausal state! (I did find the train manager and asked him if he could lower the temp but it only seemed to get hotter. The other carriages were lovely but it was a packed train). Honestly, it would have been better if I’d just stayed in bed! 😄

You should get your toe checked out, use ice packs to reduce the swelling and pain, freeze spray helps too. Hope you recover quickly.

Honestly, I havent the energy 😭

I managed to drive today to the shops to stock up on grapes and soup and snacks for dd

When I broke it before, it swelled so much and was a throbbing painful thing for days. So far its just slightly painful, none of the other symptoms, so will just rest tomorrow and see how I am 💕

Oh God, what a shite day! 🥺🥺

I get those days, when something bad happens in the morning, like your slipping in the bathtub, I take it as a sign that the whole day is out and to try again tomorrow 😭

Hope you were okay with the credit card, and managed to complete the rest of your work trip with less heat? xx

Thank you. Fortunately the rest of the trip went well and I just had to use my personal card and claim it back. I’ve got a new corporate one already which is amazing so it’s all good. I got to my hotel room and turned the air con on full blast and danced around in my pants in front of it for a bit 😂

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 09/08/2025 19:45

You know it only ever seems we injure ourselves when we are trying to be productive.

Dh and I had a date night in a hotel this weekend. First in years since kids born and just wanted some us time. I fell out of the bath at the hotel and now I have whiplash so I’m off work as I can’t move. Why did I bother 🙄

Seawolves · 09/08/2025 19:49

I can't remember the last time my 5 year old had more than 6 hours sleep in a night, this week has been really bad and last night he slept from 7pm to 10.30pm and that was it. As a result, today he has been tired, tiredness kicks off his epilepsy and his dystonia which makes him even more miserable. I am so tired that we didn't go out in the car today as I knew I was unsafe to drive but I would quite like to go to a beach day that one of our groups is holding tomorrow so I am praying for a slightly better night.

Butteredtoast55 · 09/08/2025 19:50

I've been in bed with a hideous headache and fever, having woken at 5am with teeth chattering and the shakes. Beginning to feel slightly better now but I feel awash with water and like I've now slept too much to settle.

Omg i'm watching bridget jones do the same 😭 - got my full briefs on as well for the occassion

That sounds like a good ending to the day, although if it happens again, would recommend wine and chips 🤭🥰

Is your five year old also autistic? My 6year old is the same, terrible sleeper

But will say that now that shes six, she is sleeping for much longer, although the times she goes down varies 🙏 - the tiredness from these years is worse than when she was a newborn, honestly

Poor little thing, thats horrible for both of you 🥺 - hope he sleeps well for you tonight, maybe the tiredness will kick in and you'll be able to get out tomorrow

And the beach will tire him our for you, if hes anything like mine x

oh no! How long will you be laid up for? 🥺 sounds painful

its always the way tbh, the number of times life has thwarted my dd free evenings (where i've managed to tire her out enough that i'm confident she will sleep), I also wondered why I bothered 😄🙃

Oh i'm sorry, that sounds so shite

Will you at least have a bit of peace to watch a boxset to get through the night?

I hate being unwell and awake at night, for some reason, but if you'll get a lie in tomorrow, it'll be okay x

@youreactinglikeafunmum Not autistic, he has complex disabilities and severe developmental delay, disordered sleep is part of his syndrome. He is also registered blind so doesn't get the same day/night signals that we get. I don't think tonight is going to be any better and I could cry.

Oh 🥺, @Seawolves how did it go? Did you manage to make it to the beach?

Who is your support system? It must be hard on you, bless your sweet boy xx

You deserve a mcdonalds delivery along with some snacks and tv to make it through today

Not even on the same page as some of you but just feeling sorry for myself.
My house has been on the market a fair while and I really need it to sell, had an offer - accepted and now they are ghosting us. I’ve lost the house I wanted as they said I didn’t have a firm offer (obviously right of them) so now back to square one. I had a little cry and told myself to get a grip but I’m scared it’s not going to sell and Il lose everything. The joy of divorce.

NaeRolls · 11/08/2025 21:00

I get really clumsy when I have PMS. And also hungrier for junk food.
