Taking the DC away for the first time on my own.

What do you do with your valuables when you are at the beach and you have at least one child who needs to be accompanied in the sea?

edited to add: by ‘valuables’ I mean phone and keys

Take the absolute minimum with me, eg £5 for ice cream leave the rest in the accommodation . Bury it in the sand / small bag and waterproof container.

Bum bag. Or one of those little cross body ones.

Waterproof pouch like those worn by paddleboarders etc?

You can get waterproof pouches for your phone that you wear, I only take a small amount of cash to the beach, no cards. Depending on the beach, some have lock boxes for hire.

I don't take anything really valuable to the beach. Car keys, bank card, etc, I try and put somewhere non-obvious (in a plastic bag inside the drinks cool bag, for example), but othwise, I think it's just a risk you have to take. I've not had anything stolen so far.
You can buy waterproof cases for your phone, if that's any good to you.

Waterproof case and a bum bag sounds doable. I’ll have to have phone and car keys at absolute minimum and I will have to go in the water with DC2.

Very grateful for any recommendations of reliable brands etc.

You can also buy tow floats that act as a waterproof bag if you are going to go properly in the water - this kind of thing

Bring a nappy and wrap them in that. Unlikely anyone will take it. Alternatively, a bum bag worn as a cross body and don’t go in too deep

Back pack and don't go in too deep?
