My partner was a carer for his mother who passed away and he still lives in the property. He has OVO as the gas and electric supplier. This was the supplier his mother used so now he has bills in his name.
OVO are being very pushy and keep ringing him asking to go on direct debit and get a smart meter. We are reluctant to do this as his mother was owed thousands in credit as they had been taking a very high direct debit payment each month and they refused to give it back until he threatened them with the Energy Onbudsman.
We would rather take monthly readings and pay by card as the house will be sold in a few months so we don’t want direct debit hassle because we know they will make it hard to refund any difference owed. We don’t want a smart meter fitted.
We are thinking of changing suppliers. What suppliers are good and won’t harass you? Thanks.
