Back garden cctv in air b&b?

Found a property that looked great for what we require and thought I’d just read a few reviews before we booked. We would be visiting as a family of 4 with a toddler and a baby. The property is a 2 bed cottage. One of the reviews, very positive but just mentioned an extra bath mat would have been useful, the host replied that they could have just washed it and hung it out on the line like they did with the towels (they knew this because of the cctv). There was also another reply to a review (again positive but just with a slight recommendation) where it was insinuated something was seen just via cctv (host seemed quite defensive). I totally get the need for cctv for security but not sure if this is creepy and would feel like we were being watched as would be using the garden? Is this normal? I’m hoping I am being unreasonable because location and property apart from this is ideal!

Personally I would not hire that place! But I’m so anti CCTV in these situations and think people have gone security mad, lost sight of what the actual risks are.

But I’m sure the security mad conscious will be along soon to tell you how you should have cameras everywhere or your at risk of your entire house being stolen,

It’s a total invasion of privacy as far as I’m concerned.

No, that’s not normal. I have a place I rent out to holiday makers and I have security cameras. They are turned off and physically covered when guests are in because it would be weird otherwise!

I’d avoid, not just for the CCTV but the fact they are addressing people with feedback to tell them they have been watched.

This is a great way of doing it
