Irregular periods

Hi all,
Looking for some advice really and see if anyone has had similar. I’m 44 and always been regular with my periods. Had the Lettz procedure in January 2025 for CIN 2 and 3 anyway since then my periods have basically gone a bit batshit from my normal 28 days to 23 then last month I had another period only 15 days after the last. Saw GP who did a repeat smear and also referred for an ultrasound which I’m waiting on. Part of me is wondering if it’s perimenopause the other part of me is thinking more sinister stuff.
just wondered if anyone else has had similar?

I’m 51. Mine are anywhere from 18 to 42 days, although they have recently levelled out a bit. They are getting much heavier though, with clots and flooding.

Thanks so much for your reply, I’m really hoping it’s perimenopause stuff and nothing else. Sounds like you have also gone through a stage of irregularities too, were you quite regular before? Obviously I won’t know anymore really until I’ve had the scan I suppose. Appreciate you replying thank you 😊
